Dohring said he tried to take some inspiration from Percy Daggs III, who plays Veronica's best friend Wallace Fennel, in crafting this new Logan. This isn't to say that Logan is suddenly as even-keeled as the reliable Wallace, and it doesn't even mean that there aren't aspects of the old Logan that are still evident, but it does mean that Logan has matured enough to have developed a web of positive relationships with people outside of Veronica and Dick (Ryan Hansen).

"Keith actually likes Logan and thinks he's a good influence on Veronica," Thomas said. "I mean that's how tipped-on-its-head things are now."

"Yeah, I think it starts off in a place where we can be friends," Dohring said of Logan's relationships with Wallace and Keith (Enrico Colantoni). "Because on the [original] show I would never particularly treat Veronica as well as maybe people would like that to happen. So, that's the grownup nature [of the new Logan], which requires scenes with characters that I would never participate in beforehand.

"So, it's good to be the good guy," Dohring declared.
