I think she did anyway lol, since she knew that Peyton would always be Luke's first choice and nothing would change that, so in that aspect she knew her relationship wouldn't go anywhere.

and maybe she did but it wasnt made clear. It always seemed as if peyton's confession is what pushed her. i wish brooke had done it first, and THEN peyton could have revealed her feelings.

I would say it was made clear when she admitted it that Peyton had no part in it lol. BL's issues in 3.22/4.01 were more about Luke's limitations as a boyfriend when Peyton admitting her feelings to Brooke.

The end of s3 kind of confuses me as far as Brooke goes. In the episode before the finale, before Peyton's confession, it seemed like she didn't even really miss Lucas while he was away. So it seemed like they were heading toward her breaking up with him anyway then she got really angry at Peyton for having feelings for him still. That was probably for dramatic effect. I think the story arc was clearly indicating that she was learning to be her own person away from Lucas and that she'd be okay without him. And it was obvious all season that Lucas couldn't put his feelings for Peyton aside which only caused issues in his relationship with Brooke.

I think Brooke was kinda looking for someone to take her anger out for BL not working out again and Peyton gave her an good reason (in her mind) to unleash her anger at someone besides Luke.

Umm, what storyline would you have preferred to have gotten with Peyton in S2?

Not really sure since I'm lousy at coming up with storylines on a whim. But I think we should've seen her working more with THUD and maybe trying to balance that with Tric. Seeing PH working more closely and seeing her pine for Lucas in secret (through drawings and longing looks maybe). And see more seeds planted for the s3 Ellie storyline, maybe she could've met her earlier in the season. And just see more development for the softer side of her, maybe that could've come with her closeness with Haley and eventually Nathan. If the NH storyline was the same, I would've liked to see more scenes with NP being there for each other during that awkward stage. I would've kept the end of s2 the same for LP, just more scenes of them gradually moving closer together.

That works for me and I honestly would have been introduced the Ellie stuff in the second half of S2.
