@realmichellehurd and I became friends on the first Christmas movie I ever did. Naughty or Nice. God, she was so cool! Her, @danneelackles512 and I all quickly fell in love. We realized we had so much in common - loud rowdy girls who had a preference for big hair and laughing hard. We also realized our husbands - @jeffreydeanmorgan and @garretdillahunt were essentially the same person! Both Seattle boys who were introspective and a bit mysterious. They are a couple that we always vow to spend more time with, and if we’ve learned anything from quarantine, it’s that tomorrow isn’t guaranteed. The last time we saw them was at @sundanceorg and we hugged and laughed and promised to get together back in NY. Just seeing them again via Skype felt really nice. I miss their energy and wit and love them to bits.
I’m also really happy to have Sonia Barnes Moorehead from @astorservices on the show. If you’ve read my book, you know that my involvement with Astor started at the lowest point in my life, post-miscarriage. I needed a new focus, and so friends brought me to Astor for a tour. Sonia was the first person I met. When I tell you she is one of the most magnetic humans I’ve ever encountered, I mean it wholeheartedly. She walked me through the space and her passion had me hooked. Working with her for the betterment of the kids at Astor has been one of the greatest honors of my life, and I value her experience and wisdom more than I can say. Incidentally, when my #metoo moment became a very public avalanche during my pregnancy with George, Sonia was the person who sat with me and made me smile and told me the things I desperately needed to hear. She is goodness personified.
