It is sad my issues with some shows is there a point where tehre is way to many characters and they all have to get screen time so it takes it away from the original characters

^ Yes, it's hard to balance an ensemble cast at times and that was definitely the case on OTH.

Mark ended up getting attached to gueststars and tended to keep them around longer than they should've been--storyline-wise.

^ Yes, exactly. The problem was some of the background characters were better as side characters and couldn't carry their own storylines like Mouth.

I didn't mind him in s1-s3. In late s4 he was in too much of the storyline, imo.
