Signature limits are now governed by the software. There's a limit of 100 characters per line which is adjusted for font size (not sure of the specifics on that). If one of your lines has more characters, line breaks will be added by the software. That's why you'll get the message that your proposed sig has more lines than you think it has.

I still can´t change my sig. Even if I only put one line in, it says I have to shorten it. I know Chris changed my sig before, but I´d really like to do it on my own again, especially for icon credit and such...

I don’t know why that happens, but if you let me know what your signature to be, I can change it in the Control Panel.

Mhh, I´ll try again and if I can´t figure anything out, I´ll come back to you, Jerry. It´s just kinda sad that I´m not able to change my sig on my own anymore.

I'm curious are you trying to add the icon credit on another line as I already see 5 lines in your current signature?

Nope, not really. I was trying to change my sig fully. And even if I only put one word in it, it tells me I use more than 5 lines. It´s really strange.

I have the same problem too. I understood that 100 characters per line thing but look at my sig... it's very small and yet, if I want to add an icon credit line, it says it's too long. I mean it's just annoying if you can't change your sig on your own anymore

Signature help!!!!!

I'm pretty ticked off right now.

First off, I haven't asked a help question in a while so it too me forever to realize that the Question/Answers is waaay at the top under info center.

Now to the problem.

I had a signature that I really liked and it took me a while to figure out how I wanted it and I went to make a SMALL change.

the names I wanted to take our were the same amount of letters as the ones I was going to replace. And the stupid thing told me it was TOO LONG

I was changing Kendall+Zach to Michael+Sara...THE SAME FREAKIN AMOUNT OF LETTERS AND SPACES AND SUCH

Now I don't have a signature at all because I was trying my best to change it

Maybe it was longer then the regular size and it couldn't be updated, did you follow these rules?

Signatures:
• Signature blocks should be no taller than a 100 X 100 avatar.
• Bolded signatures are allowed.
• You can mix font sizes in your signature, and you can also have different font styles in your signature, but the largest font size allowed in a signature is Size 3.
• The maximum amount of smilies allowed in a signature is four.
• Links to other websites are allowed in your signature, but links to other message boards are not allowed. If a website that you link to has a message board, that’s fine, but you can’t link directly to the message board on that website

You were probably over the limit before but now Signature limits are governed by the software so it automatically catches it. There's a limit of 100 characters per line which is adjusted for font size. Also, if one of your lines has more characters, line breaks will be added by the software. That's why you might get the message that your proposed sig has more lines than you think it has.

Let me know what you want your signature to be, and I can try to change it in the Control Panel. vBulletin has some kind of glitch where posters sometimes can't change their signatures, but I'm able to do it sometimes. If it doesn't work, I'll let you know.
