Well, I'm back from my trip to Columbus, Mississippi for the Southern Literary Festival. I drove a van full of students down there, and let me tell you, that was an adventure! Nobody could coordinate their bathroom breaks,but I guess that is typical when you have several folks involved But we had a great time.

One girl won first prize in the informal essay compeition. And as a group, we got tons of ideas for our creative arts magazine for next year We did tons of sightseeing at the beautiful campus and around town. And I got to visit Tennessee Williams' first home! The actual house was closed for renovations, but I stood on the same front porch that Tennessee Williams stood on He is my second favorite playwright!

The trip home was the most adventurous though We were unable to leave Columbus, Mississippi until 1:30 or 1:40. We headed north as soon as possible because of all the tornado warnings. I was just trying to get us all home and through the path of the storm as soon as possible.

However, we hit West Point, Mississippi at the same time as the tornado! I read on the news today that the most destructive path, the one that killed 10 people, the one that was on the ground for 100 miles ended just northeast of West Point. As I was driving through West Point, the tornado sirens were blaring. It was dark!!! I had to pull over at one point because the winds and rain were so bad I couldn't see.

But I got us home, almost 9 hours later. Ugh. And when we were almost home, one girl had to stop to use the restroom. Somehow, the convience store worker locked her in the store We were just about to call the police when he came careening back up in his truck. Still never figured out where he went or why he didn't check the bathroom before he left. Or how he didn't see my giant 15 passenger van parked by the front door!

K, i get scared easily too and the movie scared me to death. But the plot was so great and the movie was amazing, so it was worthy.

Thanks but I'm not sick, I'm depressed and down because my dog Buddy died on Sunday.

It wasn't expected he had cancer but it was just the way he died. He died on my living floor and it was not peaceful. It was horrific.

You're welcome. It's always a pain when your pet dies. My cat died almost 6 years ago and it was such a shock. I felt really bad.

I'm sorry about your cat.

We had to put my cat Gina to sleep almost 2 years ago because she had a tumor. We knew what we were in for but we were not prepared to see him take his last breath on the living room floor with my sister and I screaming on the phone to my mother that he was dying. It was awful, I really miss him.

I'm sorry for your cat and your dog, i really am. I know that it's very hard for you now but hold on, the pain will slowly fade away.
It's never easy to lose a pet you love, i really know how it feels.
