New Members!

If you're new to Fan Forum and would like to make a friend or feel you could benefit from the help of a more experienced poster, you can do so here.
It is very simple! Just post a reply to this thread saying that you would participate. You will then be told the person you need to PM, and you'll have
your first friend here - just drop them a short (or long, it is up to you) Private Message saying something like the following:

Hi,
I am a new member here at Fan Forum and we have been matched up at the Friend thread.

Please don't contact members on the list without posting here first.

Friends

• To sign up to be a friend, you must have been a member of Fan Forum for at least 6 months.
• You also must have at least 600 posts.
• You may sign up as often as you want, but you must wait for a period of 2 months between friends.
• If your new friend doesn't make contact within 2 weeks, let us know on the thread and you can be added again when there is an available spot.
• Only posters who request to be added when there is an open spot will be added to our 'friends list'.

The Small Print - Additional information about the friend process.

The system intends to create a situation in which new members can ask all kinds of questions to a more experienced member and also create a contact, a support, and more importantly a first friend on Fan Forum. Assignments will be made in this thread, conversations will take place via Private Messages, and the rest is up to you

We began using the lists so that new members will be immediately paired with another member. The list is updated often, so be sure you are consulting the most recent version of the list (you will find it always on the latest posts made on the thread) to avoid confusion.

New members if your friend is not available, or if you have any other concerns, please consult Aroa, Chris or Lindsay.


And last, but not least... despite the serious tone of this introduction, this is extremely fun and everyone should try it! Just post you want to find a friend and the fun will begin!
