Thanks for the new thread!

I'll bet your Mississippi summers get pretty hot. Do you ever get snow?

Elle 01-09-2019 08:42 AM

We might get snow once every couple of years. We had some last year. And yes, it gets so hot and muggy in the summers. :(

Chris 01-09-2019 03:50 PM

Overall, I think I can deal with the cold easier than extremely hot weather. Although on a cold, windy, snowy day like this, I tend to forget that.

How was your day?

So far, I’m really glad where I live hasn’t got a snowfall this winter yet. Saves anxiety about driving to and from work in it.

Today was a good day at work for me! And Friday will be fun cause I’ll get to go to the bookstore and buy $650 worth of new childrens’ books! :D

Spoken like a true Canadian. I'm the opposite. I'm already super cold at temps below 20C. We get temps as high as 42C here during peak summer and those are the times I wish I was anywhere in the world but here. :sigh:

Had a good one. Went bowling :) I do it once a week and super enjoy it.

It was so windy and cold :cold:

Chris 01-10-2019 02:44 PM

Leanne - to me it wouldn't be winter without snow. I'd just rather not get very much of it. Picking out the new books would be fun!

Lindsay - I'd melt at 42C. To me, high teens and low 20's are perfect temperatures.

Elle - growing up, we used to go bowling fairly regularly, but I haven't gone in years. There's not a bowling alley in town, and it's not something I'd make an effort to do when we're out of town.

My son had a regular medical appointment in the city today. Lots of blowing snow made for a challenging drive. On the way home, we went past a plow in the ditch. Needless to say that section of road was terrible. I'm glad to be home.

Blowing snow is scary, especially on a highway! I think I don’t like the idea of driving in snow when I used to work in a prison which was out in the boonies at the base of a mountain and I was always scared I’d get caught in the snow at night on the highway far from town or a place to stay, worst scenario would be spending a night in the prison  that fortunately didn’t happen though.

Elle 01-11-2019 04:58 AM

Chris - it's kind of my sport. We have a really nice alley about 20 minutes away.

Chris 01-11-2019 07:18 AM

Elle - I remember my mom playing in a league when I was a child.

Leanne - yeah, blowing snow is nasty.

It's nice and sunny today. Cold though. I've got some errands to run.

Elle 01-11-2019 07:32 AM

Jealous! It's dreary and cold here today.

Chris 01-11-2019 07:38 AM

Cold here too, but not freezing. -11C/12F. Just seeing the sun helps though.

Do you have any plans for the day?

Elle 01-11-2019 07:53 AM

Not too much going on today. Just a regular school/work day here. You?

Chris 01-11-2019 12:27 PM

Not too much. I had some errands to run this morning, but those are done now.

Hi all! I had a fun work day cause I got to go buy and look at nice new children’s books. It’s fun to go to a bookstore for my job and get paid buying books  :read:

I was so tired when I got home I slept for 3 hours in a nap and not sure when I’ll really go to bed now!

Anyone happy it’s the weekend now?

Elle 01-12-2019 06:15 AM

^Always happy for a weekend!

Happy weekend everyone!

Weather here has normalized meaning we're back in the 30s. Lazy Sunday for me but tomorrow I have to be up early for a very early morning meeting. :sigh:

reason to believe 01-12-2019 09:43 PM

Its gonna be :sun: here for the next few days so it will be a good change of pace.

Early work meetings? how can anyone concentrate in a meeting first thing in early morning, no one’s brains would be at peak inspiration?

Put away my Christmas stuff have to admit my place looks way less cluttered and neat now compared to this morning! It was feeling so messy but now I think tomorrow I’ll be happy in a neat space enjoying a new coffee I bought tonight!

Elle 01-13-2019 05:22 AM

Happy Sunday

We went out yesterday and completely froze :cold:

Crystal Clear 01-13-2019 06:38 AM

Elle 01-13-2019 07:29 AM
