Well, I don't think that he brought too much good in her.
She cheated (him), she lied (to him), she brought Big to his country cottage. Carrie was just Carrie.

Aidan was really nice person though, hot, sexy, masculine and he loved her.
But he wanted to settle down, have a family. He loved country life.
And she was a city girl. She loved going out, having fan, she liked fashion. He didn't care for any of it.

But that all could have been so unimportant. They could have found a compromise.

Personally I think it never would have worked because Big would always have been the one that got away to Carrie. But maybe if she'd met Aidan first...

Absolutely. She just adored Big.

If she met Aidan first .... I don't know.
I think, she was more interested in Aidan because he was different than Big.
She was always craving for "an amazing relationship with amazing guy". And Big represented that in her eyes. But when her relationship with Big didn't work, she started to look for something a little different.
IMO she would have not just fallen in love with someone like Aidan even if she never met Big. Aidan was not entirely her type (country boy for city girl) and she was looking for perfection.
