Turns out Soma's main passion is singing but she had terrible stage fright so she used acting to overcome her anxiety.

She auditioned for six other Degrassi characters! So she was comfortable entering the set as Goldi. This is a fun interview because the interviewer actually watched Degrassi so they chat about her main episodes.

#MeToo, woman's movement - Soma went to her mom at a young age and asked why she couldn't have been born with blonde hair and blue eyes. It broke her heart.

Singing gives her an alter ego in a way, a "cooler" version of herself. So that's similar to acting - which was the interviewer's question.

I didn't know she was into producing and editing. So she basically did Forever Boy all by herself, except she needed an actor to make out with.

Her portion of the Breadwinner was filmed in one day - 8 hours. She's not going to the Oscars.

It is crazy how she is a voice actor as well as on screen, does stuff behind, and sings.

The other day I decided to watch the movie The Breadwinner
It was a good movie, I recommend checking it out. But it is kind of "depressing".
The pleasant surprise was recognizing the voice of one of the main characters. SOMA!

Sometimes I think I know more about Canadian awards than American ones...not that it is very much but...yeah. And I pay more attention to the projects the cast members are working on outside of the show as opposed to other teen dramas.
