I'm pretty sure they were trying to fit it in with helping Ellie realize she wants to be with Jesse. It just didn't have any place to be said while talking about JT and what happened to him. It just sounded so out of place.

Yeah that's what I thought. I know it was in there for Ellie, and interestingly enough, it actually did relate to J.T. with the whole Liberty situation. But again, how would Jimmy have known?

LotusRises 01-12-2007 08:05 AM

At this point, it only makes sense to do a Liberty searching for her long lost baby storyline (like they go on a road trip or something). In fact, they could do it with Liberty, Mia, Manny, and Emma, with past issues (Jt, manny's abortion, etc.) finally resurfacing.

I didn't dislike TBP as much as some others, I just hated how unsympathtic Toby was. The memorial scene killed me, when Manny cried and esp when Liberty cried.

And as far as RTT goes, the shot of all the original degrassi kids from the lower grade in a hug was probably the most brilliant shot on DTNG ever.

^^^I loved both RTt and TBP!! I think these episodes were written sooo god damn well.

RTT was just...urgh...it was just so tearjerking to see Liberty find J.T.. OMG!! So sad.

TBP...I'll have to agree with someone when I said I didn't want to see everyone crying throughout the whoel freaking episode and I'm glad nobody did.

I do think this episode was about love, in general as someone said. But yeah STD1 & 2(not sure about 2 yet though), RTT, and TBP hjave really opened my interest back into Degrassi. I hope IYL is good but its an Emma episode so I doubt!

I have to admit until this episode I was gonna give up on Degrassi, only because I though it was getting a little fake but when I saw Liberty crying at the memorial I was speechless, it really apealed to me. And another reason why I'm giving the show another shot: when she found JT. Oh My God! That was so sad, I didn't even expect it to be JT who died.

I thought this episode was okay. I mean it wasn't the greatest, but it wasn't the worse. I just didn't like the Toby and Liberty kiss; it should've been left out. I can see why they kissed, but it just seems like Liberty always gets the short end of the stick. I really didn't like Ellie getting the subplot; I thought the whole episode should have been devoted to JT. We didn't have to see everyone crying, but I thought that we already got enough Ellie this season, so airtime could have been used elsewhere.

I agree. Ellie and her boy were boring. I FF through their parts. It should have been all about JT and remembering him. :)

kimstar887 02-05-2007 02:13 AM

Yeah I agree it should just be about JT

I also think that JT's death should have be placed into two episodes! insted of one :D

I thought the episode was great. Even the Ellie subplot (I'm hoping it means she's moving past Craig and giving Jesse an honest chance)

The Jimmy comment made sense because the whole point of the episode was about how senseless some violence is. We got to see the build up with Rick. We knew the story but the truth is in life you don't always know the story there isn't always a reason and therefore you have to live your life and hope that you find someone or something that helps make it worthwhile.

Jimmy's line ties the whole thing together. We all know that JT was lucky because he loved someone (Liberty) and he'd been loved by many people. Therefore, even if he's life is cut short it was well-lived.

It was a great episode but I would rather have JT back

Californian 02-05-2007 04:41 PM

I have to say that this was sadder then Rock This Town because it finally hit me that he was dead and the part with the slideshow and Ellie and Ashley and everyone smiling was sad and Liberty crying was very sad.

Same here it didn't hit me either until the memorial

crazy_lena 02-05-2007 10:02 PM

I wish they would have cut out the whole Ellie subplot, it felt so out of place.
As I rewatched the episode I found myself fast forwarding the whole Ellie plot. lol. :)

I also wish that they could have shown just a bit more of the memorial. More depressing music and pictures of JT as he grew up.
I'll admit, the episode really hit me hard at the very end with Liberty's tears.
