I don't think so, there was a birthday picture when he was younger but that pic would have been taken before the show. I don't really remember what all was in the slideshow but it was a nice touch. I do remember a picture of I believe... JT, Liberty, and Danny, I could be wrong though.

I'll try to do some caps tomorrow.

Thanks.

It's so sad.He was my favorite character next to manny, emma, toby, and liberty. He kind of reminds me of myself except the drug and baby stuff

 I'm all for a soap opera-esque montage. Those are actually pretty good usually.

They make me tear up like no other. I wouldn't mind if they did one for the very last episode of the d:tng series. They always have them on Passions, and I always end up blubbering like a little baby. Okay, I'm going to stop now before I really get carried away on the montage sequence...

I don't understand why they had to do the whole Toberty thing. It was stupid even though I haven't seen it yet. From what I've heard it was uncalled for.

shortycm18 01-09-2007 09:53 PM

The fact that 20 minutes after this episode was over, I still had a lump in my throat, to me says that this episode was bang on.

I agree though, it was totally the damn slideshow that cracked me.

I don't usually cry at TV, and while I do adore my Degrassi, for the most part its been a "slightly cheesy Canadian teen drama" to me. This episode sort of changed that for me.

As I said over in the spoiler thread, I didn't like the Lib/Tob thing, but at the same time, I've seen it happen in real life. (except for the fact that Toby alluded he'd had feelings for Liberty beforehand, that wasn't cool).

Unnecessary, perhaps, but I think in the end, if JT can't be with Liberty, he'd be happy to know she was with his best friend Toby, and that Toby would treat her right. That doesn't mean I want them to have a relationship, but you know. From JT's point of view. Just like he wouldn't have wanted a "sad funeral with organ music".

Anyway, this episode was great I thought, very moving, especially the tribute to JT. The memorial was terrific. And it was nice to see Liberty's dam break at the end.

JustMe2000 01-09-2007 10:56 PM

I preferred this episode more to the first one, although both seemed a little rushed. Nice to see Toby get himself a starring role in the main plot. It's about time.

Why is it that the thing I'm going to remember as much as anything from this episode is the giant JT behind Snake at the memorial? I guess it's just me. :look:

Paige should have been at the funeral. Her friendship with JT was so genuine and they had fantastic friend chemistry. I think the writers really screwed up by not having Paige come back for the memorial.

TBP... It was like a french farse... I really couldn't believe what was going on... And if I never hear Manny say "Coo Coo Bananas" again, it'll be too soon.

onepapergirl 01-10-2007 05:01 AM

This episode was so sad. The first one was ok (the look on JT's face when he was stabbed was heartbreaking) and was it just me, or did Spinner look especially hot in this episode?

The Toby/Lib thing kind of bothered me, but I can understand it.

The montage was what made me almost cry though. Does anyone know the name of the song that they played?

ESLgirl 01-10-2007 07:17 AM

I hated this episode. I thought it was bad. I thought the focus was so off. Toby was more sad at Rick's funeral. And why did Ellie get the B plot? It would have been better served giving the B plot to someone close to Toby, or not even having a B plot and making it a whole cast-centered episode. Here's another student who has died because of an incident of school-related violence and nothing is being said about that point. It would have been nice to have actually seen the JT slideshow instead of listening to Mia whine. Or they could have done a video montage, like others have mentioned. I'll cry at anything but this episode left me dry-eyed and pissed.

Californian 01-10-2007 07:32 AM

Liberty and Toby? Yuck. Why was Alex there?
