Weight in Pregnancy...

Okay, so i'm about 7 months pregnant. And, this sounds so stupid, but i'm not sure about the weight i've put on and stuff. I dunno, no one has told me how much i should put on, and i don't want to ask. How much weight do women usually put on in a pregnancy?

I'm 5'4", but i've always been really skinny. Just naturally, and i weighed 7.5 stone, thats 105 pounds, before i got pregnant. Now, at 7 months, i'm 9.5 stone, 130 pounds. I'm just worried that i'm not putting on enough weight, and i'm endangering the baby. I mean... this is abit of a dumb post, really, i was just wondering if anyone knew... I'm too embarressed to ask anywhere else.

Don't feel dumb. It's good that you are concerned about the health of yourself and your baby.

Go here:

Pregnancy Weight Gain Estimator

I'll go and ask some moms on FF to come to this thread. Don't worry.

Have you been to the Dr.? What does he/she say? If your taking care of yourself and eating properly and feeling decent them chances are your doing ok. You can't judge your weight gain by anyone else's as all pregnant woman are different. I do hope you've been checking in with a Dr. or a clinic of some sort.

Do you know what the sex of the baby is yet?
Do you have any names picked out?
Are you excited?
Are you keeping the baby?
Is this too many questions?
Am I being too nosey?

Great. Sounds like you are just getting anxious as the time draws near. You'll be a great mom. Just remember when your eating that you are eating for two...so have that extra twinkie now and then.

ETA: Have you taking any Birthing Classes? They can really help with alot of your worries.
And don't forget to take your pre-natal vitamins.

Chances are, it's your body type that's making you not gaining as much weight as other women. But if you are very far off from the normal range, maybe you should ask your doctor again...maybe ask him if there are foods you should eat more.

Dreams of the Dr. saying "eat plenty of Edy's Grand Ice Cream", "Gooey Chocolate Chip Cookies" and "Peanut Butter Fudge." Oh and Pizza....

Pregnant women are supposed to eat foods rich in calcium and iron. And eat lots of green vegetables.

Wouldn't it be great to be told stuff like that. "Oh, and you know what else is good for the baby? A vodka shot or two..." That's not happening for a while.

Greens, eh? I think i have a pretty balenced diet, generally...

As long as you're regularly visting a doctor and s/he isn't concerned, I wouldn't worry about it. Actually, 25 pounds sounds about right. I can't remember exactly, but I know that I gained less than 30 pounds when pregnant. As other people have said, it varies greatly from woman to woman.
