Is it stupid to wear a white skirt.....
...when I have my period? I'm going out for dinner, and I like planning my outfits beforehand, and I think the only thing I can come up with that is nicely in between casualness and dressiness involves one of my white skirts (it's really cute, heh). But the thing is, I just got my period, and while I don't think it should be a problem since my skirts don't generally get stained - I'm worried that maybe I shouldn't risk it.
Any advice? __________________

Be a risk taker
But if you put the skirt on and you don't feel confident that it'll stay nice and white, I don't think you should wear it. __________________

I think it's fine too - just safeguard yourself. Wear a tampon AND a pad and take a jacket you can tie around your waist just in case or is long.

I think I'll wear it anyways...I've never worn tampons and I don't have time in the morning to run out and buy as well as figure them out, I think. But maybe. I'm hoping I'll be safe with just a pad & just checking often. I'll have a jacket with me, anyways.

Ditto Freya on taking something to wear around your waist. I always get a little paranoid so I don't wear white but I say if you feel comfortable go for it.

It depends how much it bothers you. I personally wouldn't because i get paranoid crazy, but what are the chances...unless it happens a lot then i wouldn't.

I think you should be okay as long as you have protection and change it frequently. I know how you feel. I always get paranoid about leaks too...

tampons are my god. seriously. i love those crazy things. You feel so less paranoid with them - and I haven't had one leak on me yet. plus, they fit into your purse so much more easily. and in australia, they are smaller (we don't use applicators here) and come in funky boxes. you can co-ordinate your tampon box to match your purse. so much fun.

I am a bit paranoid myself when it comes to wear light colorus during ,y period. But that's just me. I never get stained.
Oh, and I should definitely try tampons. It's just that my period is so light that I don't know if it's safe to use them __________________

I say, use a tampon + pad + extra set of panties
I've never been able to insert a tampon without the applicator |

When I went to the US and had to use a tampon with an applicator last year, it took me like twenty minutes to figure it out. It scared me. I went thorugh three before I got one in propely. I don't like the ones with applicators. Waste of plastic and they take up more space in your bag.
