Ooh that was close...

Why can't hanging pictures be made easier?

I nearly smashed my thumb with the hammer.

I don't have any idea. I don't use pictures. I just stick my posters on the walls of my room

I especially hate it when you have to hang some in a very high area and you want them the same height. Such a pain. Hope your thumb is ok.

That is the reason I usually enlist help when hanging pictures

Glad your thumb escape the dangers of the hammer.

There once was a commercial for some Home-Depot sort of place that gave this tip:
Place the nail between the teeth of a comb, which will probably hold the nail long enough.

I use screws instead of nails when hanging up pictures--they aren't as likely to fall off the wallthat way. I just get my studfinder and my power drill, and I'm good to go. (Is my passion for power tools showing? )

I use these colored thumb tacks to hang up posters and such in my room, they seem to work nicely
