I don't buy CD's at Wal-Mart anymore, I found that Best Buy is hella lot cheaper. I usually buy VHS tapes and every day essencials at Wal-Mart. I also buy groceries (minus meat and produce- we don't have that here- yet).

It's basically where I can afford to shop.

Oh yeah, Best Buy. How can I forget that. New one near where I live.

I don't mean to categorize people but in general, I get very over the staff of Wal-Mart most of the time. I have only met one super fast employee and one super nice employee there. Most are scowling, rude, and the worst - slow. Or all of the above. Yeah, it's not a high paying job. Yeah, it's not exactly super fun to work at Wal-Mart. But it's still customer service. One time I went in with some video I just got from the library. The theft detector detected the library barcode or something and beeped. Then, the woman with the stickers acted so rude about it, treating me like a thief. So yeah, I was walking INTO the store, not OUT of it. If I stole from the store successfully before, would I walk back in with it for the detector to pick it up? It's ok for her to ask and check what I had that's making it beep, it's her job, I know. But there's no reason for rude behaviour.

One time, this Wal-Mart supervisor came to the register to help with a refund problem this cashier was having with a customer. I was next in line, imagine my luck. There was already a huge line growing behind me and this supervisor worked in slow motion, picking up each item super slowly to scan. She picked up this jumbo pack of juicy fruit along with a sheet of Barbie stickers, scanning the juicy fruit but not the stickers. I stood there waiting for her to realize it but of course she didn't. After scanning "all items", she looked at the total and said "We have an item missing. The total doesn't add up." Then, super slowly went through the stuff not finding anything. I flipped over the juicy fruit and said "You forgot the stickers." No thank you. No sorry. There were already 10 people behind me. She scanned the stickers and just took off leaving the cashier to handle the rest and leaving her to say "I'm sorry about the wait." OMG, and she's the supervisor??? Great example to all employees working under her.

I used to work at Wal-Mart and I was always praised by customers for my accuracy and fastness at the tills, but deep down I was unhappy working there. I was treated like crap, it was like the management owned me. Ha, a month after I quit, the labor board slapped them with a $5000.00 fine for ignoring one of the labor law rules concerning workers schedules.

My mother used to be one of those door greeters at Wal-Mart (the ones who give out the stickers; she was one of the nice ones, though ) and she discovered something interesting about the beeping problem: it was people's shoes causing the beep.

Apparently there are bar code things inside shoes when you buy them (the left heel if I recall properly) and if shoe stores don't properly deactivate them, they can set off alarms at other stores like WalMart. Can even happen with an older pair of shoes or with a sneaker that has been washed.

My mother used to get people to take off their shoe, and she'd go deactivate it for them. Problem solved.

Of course, just kinda thinking about it, I find it creepy to know that there are barcodes inside shoes when most of us don't know about it....does this mean that we can be tracked in ways we haven't even imagined?

I shop at wall mart when I am there with other people.. I never go out of my way to go there and am really not concerned with the few dollars I save..

and I really don't like going to Wal Mart because where I live it is dirty, smells like ass and it seems like all the local drug addicts and degenerates of society have been hired. I just don't trust the place. lol

Oh, that is so my WalMart! I had to go in once by myself to find my dad- scariest experience ever! That place is a zoo for all of the rejects of my town.

Oh God... I went to Wal Mart today. They must think I'm stalking someone who works there

I'm always there buying whatever, even if I don't need it. They have a McDonald's inside it that's always full. It's perfect. I'm trying to eat less junk food so I'm not attracted to the McDonald's but I must admit I Wal-Mart like I love puppies.

Having no clue about this when I moved here four months ago, but I have now discovered that there are no Wal Marts in Chicago.

It has seriously destroyed several facets of my life.

Oh man do not even get me STARTED on that! It INFURIATES ME! That freaking city...they WILL NOT allow Wal-Mart in and they say "poor labor policies." Bullsh|t. It's because they aren't a union. They wanted to build one on the southside but they wouldn't let them.

Do you think the unemployed poor folks in the southside of Chicago REALLY care if the job is union or not? Hell I'd rather NOT pay union dues. It makes me so mad because not only would it provide these people with jobs, but it would provide low priced goods. The southside needs something to re-invigorate it!

Anyways it's not like this is a small town with lots of Mom and Pop shops...all the Mom and Pop shops are already gone! Let's give consumers more competition! Force Jewel and Dominicks to lower their INSANE prices. Seriously I can't believe people shop there on a regular basis. Those groceries are SO expensive!

The closet Wal-Mart is in Niles and it is filthy, rotten, and overcrowded. The parking lot is a nightmare and it's just NOT a fun place to go to.

Now my Wal-Mart in Lincoln is really nice. We actually some incredibly HOT people working there...probably from the University.

Wal-mart?! Yuck! I like my H.E.B. for groceries, especially fresh produce and meats. The quality far surpasses Wal-marts. As for clothes, got Ross Dress for Less. CDs and DVDs I get at the military base or Target.
