Graduating from college and need advice
Hi!
I'm graduating from college in 11 days (!!!) and I need some good advice. My grandmother wants to get me a gift and I want to ask for something practical that I will need after college; hwever, since I don't know what I will need, I was hoping you all could give me some good ideas. I already have a car (and goo dlord I wouldn't ask for something that extravagant), so nothing like that, but just something I'll need that I wouldn't know now. I'm moving into my very first apartment so if you can think of apartment idea's that'd be great. thanks! noelle ps. if you have any other advice for a grad, I'd love to read it! __________________

Maybe something you could use for your apartment?
What are your plans after graduating? A job? Travelling? __________________

I just graduated college in December. Most people just gave me money as a gift and I was fine with that. Perhaps some furniture for your apartment?

This was in the paper today for grads looking for work:
Tips for recent grads Do your homework. Before applying for an opportunity, research the business and its industry. Annual reports, the Internet and local business journals are excellent sources of information. Get involved. Expand your network by participating in industry associations and alumni activities. Tap your alma mater. College career centres are valuable resources for networking, learning of employment opportunities, and researching various companies, industries and professions. Be proactive. Instead of sifting through job listings, identify companies that appeal to you and contact them directly. Employers want people who show a genuine interest in working for their organizations. Highlight soft skills. More and more companies today seek professionals with a combination of top-notch knowledge and strong interpersonal abilities. Emphasize your communication skills and any training received in your resume and cover letter. Source: Accountemps __________________

If you're going to be having your own apartment, I'd definetely say furniture. Something along those lines. And college books are expensive, too. It's always nice when family pays for that too.
