That's crazy because as adults you always hear how Europe has a much better holiday system. However, kids get a longer summer break in the US.

Usually the summer break is 6 weeks. but we only got 4 weeks last year as my daughter was changing schools. It's a lot more expensive to go on holiday in the summer months, too.

Gotcha. Ya that makes sense about actually going somewhere. Peak season definitely costs a lot more.

I don't mind the length of it though, it makes a certain amount of sense for the kids to not get out of the habit of learning for too long. Also there's the issue of child care, which is so expensive.
