Father's Day Gifts and Ideas

Please share all ideas for gifts and celebrations for Father's Day on this thread.

I have to stop giving my dad wallets, shirts, and those gadget things that are radio, clock, calendar, calculator, flashlight all-in-one.

Well Cindy I am a father and the thing I always enjoy the most is time. Material things don't really mean much to me. In my case anyway, the last thing I need is something else that needs dusting or another tie that I probably won't wear. Time is most important to me.

To have one of the kids come over and spend some time with me doing some gardening or maybe go out to eat or just stay in order pizza and watch a DVD. That's the type of think I enjoy the most. But alas it's also the hardest thing for some people to part with.

Anyway that's my 2 cents.

Yeah, I know. I may not be able to spend Father's Day with him so we'd probably eat out on Saturday. But I still need to get him a gift. His current passion is burning DVDs so maybe I'll look into that....

Jay, Father's Day is always the 3rd Sunday of June, so it's June 19 this year.

Thanks all of you for reminding me when it is, I might've forgotten it.

I'll think of something, I like making something for my parents.

And I have a dance show that evening, so that's kind of a present too.

I had forgotten when father's day was, too. Thanks for the reminder.

I used to give him a CD he likes, but this time, I have no idea. Maybe I'll buy him a mens shirt or something.. even though my father isn't really into that stuff. And he already has a wallet.

Hmmm maybe I'll stick to the body-spray he uses, but I've given him that several times already.

It just depends on what he likes and what kind of taste he has. Stuff like wallets, cologne and watches usually make great gifts, but can also be boring and useless. To me, it is the thought that counts.

I don't have a father but I always get my fiancee something for Father's Day. My mom is selling a pickup truck for $1,000. So I made her a payment of $400 towards it for my fiancee. He already knows about it and he will help me pay off the rest. He is really excited though. I also bought him Revenge of the Sith for the PS2 and this movie called Lost Highway. Other than that, I will probably take him out to a nice dinner.

I usually buy him a CD he wants. He's really into music so it works.

I always get my Dad a gift but it's the little things that tend to make him happy, like if I bake him a cake or some cookies or make him breakfast in bed. The way to a man's heart is through his tomach.

This year we're getting my dad a kayak -- but actually he already knows; my mom had to tell him because he was going to get one himself.
