Hey, I hope this board is okay to post this question on...

I'm currently in the works for *thinking* about planning a fan party, but I would LOVE help, and/or advice from people who have successfully planned fan parties on how to get good venues for good prices, catering, entertainment, contacting the right people for appearances - etc.

I've attended a Fanforum party, and it was a *BLAST*, so I'd love imput or advice. Feel free to PM or IM me as well

For something on the scale you describe, I'd assume that you'd have to charge people to come. That would be considered solicitation and isn't allowed. I'm sure that you have good intentions, but even the best plans can fall through due to unforeseen circumstances.

OK we discussed this with the Management Team and decided to re-open this thread. But please notice:

We don't have a problem with you asking people for advice on planning a party, but we can't allow anyone to solicit any contributions for a party, and you would have to do something like that off site if people are interested.

I'm moving this to the OT board now! I hope people will be able to help you over there.
