I'm back from our road trip to the Grand Canyon, Las Vegas, and Colorado. We had a great time. The Grand Canyon is breathtaking! We had a bit of a rough time adjusting to the time zone change there and in Vegas, as it's 2 hours behind us. Tommy isn't one to sleep in anyway, so we were up by 5 or 6 am every day We tried not to wake his daughters or the son--in-law (since they were sleeping in the RV as well), but that's pretty impossible. The first morning at the Grand Canyon, Tommy and I were up before dawn, so we went out to one of the lookouts and watched the sunrise.
Vegas was very hot and we did so much walking. I fell the night before and landed on my knee, so it was swollen and tender to touch, so walking up and down the strip at Vegas was pretty miserable. But we did do a gondola ride at the Ventian hotel and watched the fountain display at the Bellagio at night. I even put some money in a slot machine So it was still worth doing once. We also stopped in Colorado for two nights. We all rode horses on a trail (led by a guide) in the mountains. That was fun. We only scheduled the 2 hour ride, and I'm glad we did because by the end, I was sore and ready to be off the horse __________________
