Nathan and Brooke did have that weird scene at the start of S6 where Nathan visited her at her place just before Q's funeral, when it would have made more sense for Lucas, Haley or Peyton to be the ones to check up on her instead.

Oh yeah, I was like umm, what's happening?? I felt like it would be more fit for Lucas or Peyton to check on her.. Even Haley too..

yeah, especially since Nathan and Brooke always had just a more acquaintance type relationship because Brooke was haley's best friend so he would always have somewhat of a relationship with her.

Definitely Lucas, since they were always shown to be much closer than Brooke and Nathan were. Plus they ended S5 pretty close too.
