Nice festive 2020 pics there! :glow:

Claire, so glad you managed your drive safely! I know driving in unknown or big main highways can be scary! How long do you have to be at the hotel? Sounds like a fun time with your brother in law!

Kia, that also sounds fun! I’m also 15 when it comes to holidays cause I play video games and sleep in til noon. does work start soon? I start next Monday.

Chinese food was good but way more than there were people so I bought home leftovers which will last two more days!  my mom came over for 3 hours this afternoon to see my Christmas decor and also show me all her photos she took on her November England trip. It was fun to watch!

Now three more days before back to work and I haven’t been to work for 3 and a half weeks!

I'm here until tomorrow. I may have to drive all the way home as well.

I'm glad you had a good time, Leanne.

That sounds like fun, Kia.

Another busy day for me. I have to get dressed for breakfast soon.

kiamay 01-03-2020 04:48 AM

That sounds like some real quality time with your mom, Leanne :)
Work starts on Tuesday. I am not sure why, but we never start on the 6th... gotta check if there's a reason  I'm sure it has something to do with Christmas...

Yes, I checked. It's because it is the official end of yuletide. It's the day the three wise men are celebrated but the saints are something more important in the catholic and orthodox denominations so I don't feel bad I didn't know ;)

And it's always nice to have some leftovers :D No cooking :woot:

Claire, I hope it's not just busy but also fun :)

^

It was fun, Kia. I had an ice cream sundae which was delicious!

I did end up baby sitting for a few hours, though.

We see it as the twelfth day of Christmas, and the day we take the decorations down. I'll probably do that on Sunday though.

Nice C-3PO gif, Mark. Oh, and I sent you back a PM. :)

Not to be a nitpick, but the actually Millennium was January 1st, 2001.  2000 was actually the last year of the 20th century, but since we got into the habit of celebrating the beginning of each decade with the change in the last two digits, everyone goofed. :P

kiamay 01-03-2020 04:50 PM

That's true. I remember I found that confusing

Love the dancing C3PO :)

Ice cream  Sounds great, Claire! Hope the kids were nice!
And I did the 12 days of Christmas with my kids. Well, the song. They loved it.

Meliana 01-04-2020 02:41 AM

I'm glad they loved it!

Yes I remember trying to explain that to a friend of mine, but I think she never believed me!

After lunch I have to drive home for 4 hours on the motorway. I'm hoping I will cope well with it this time.

reason to believe 01-04-2020 10:31 PM

Betting that was the Star Wars Christmas special of 1977?

Hope your drive back was good, Claire! 4 hours sounds like forever to be in a car

Well, I’m nervous of what might await me at work cause I was away a week and a half cause of sickness before the break!

One more day left of relaxing! I put away my Christmas decor today with just my lighted garland to put away tomorrow although I will miss the pretty lights of it in the evening!

Meliana 01-05-2020 04:39 AM

I just spent several hours packing away all our decorations this morning. I'm worn out now!

It was a long drive. The traffic was quite good, and my confidence in my driving came back. I'm glad I don't have any more long distance driving to do now, though.

I'm sure you can handle whatever awaits you you at work Leanne. You're good at your job, don't forget that.

We're thinking of going to the cinema later today.

reason to believe 01-06-2020 10:48 AM

I still have to put away my lighted garland.

As usual, the night before starting work after so long cause me to only sleep between 2 am and 6 am and I'm strangely fighting nausea and a stomach that wants to :puke: here at work. I just splashed water on my face for now and nibbling a peppermint chocolate thing. Blah!!

Can't wait to get into bed again when I get home, at least I can try to make it til 2:30 pm!

Thanks, Claire  I am good at it, unless I'm feeling sick while at work but I'm doing little short tasks in between taking it easy.

What movie did you guys see if you went?

Meliana 01-06-2020 01:18 PM

We saw Jojo Rabbit. It was an extremely good film! Very thought provoking too.

I'm sorry you're not feeling well. Hopefully it's an easy day for you.

I have a head cold today. I took it easy some of the time, but I did have to go and get a load of food. My husband still isn't driving, but he went and got new shoes for my daughter today. Something that I've always done before. He has an appointment at the hospital on Wednesday.

reason to believe 01-06-2020 02:16 PM

I heard that was sort of a comedy.

Yeah my stomach wants to be "burn-y" feeling today. Took Pepto Bismal, my regular stomach pill and periodically popping Tums too!

Is the treatment for your husband going well?

I'm glad you are getting some rest, hope you rest more tonight

I predict a completely lazy evening tonight, maybe cuddling with my cat in bed. He likes spooning with me lately!

Meliana 01-07-2020 08:09 AM

Kind of, it has comedic moments, but also very serious content and realistic depictions of war.

My husband hasn't had any treatment yet, we're seeing the doctor at the hospital tomorrow. Hopefully then we'll find out what is going on.

My son is sick today so apart from the library I'm not doing my normal stuff today. He can't go to his tuition as normal either. I managed to persuade him to eat some biscuits. We think he has a kind of flu.

I was watching a vlog of a girl in Australia who had to evacuate to the beach due to fire. It looks so intense and scary!

I hope you feel better soon. Glad you enjoy relaxing with your cat! :)

My headache is back which is annoying!

reason to believe 01-07-2020 10:58 AM

What's scary about Australia fires is that its an island and the fire is everywhere in all parts. Where exactly can people and animals really flee too? :( Global warming causes more fires it seems than ever before!

I recorded that movie you said was funny about the "documentary" about following vampires in their lives. I still need to watch it!

Hope your son gets better soon. There seems to be a flu and also other viruses going around.

Last night, I took a nap with my cat and then eventually had to :puke:. After that, I was sort of better but I had a way better sleep than the night before so today I now feel back to myself. Whew!!

Wonder what causes your headaches?
