 hi, Kia and PhoenixRising!

How did the exam go Claire?i hope you are having fun decorating!

Kia, I bet this is a busy season for you with the choir and wrapping up work and your parties!

I’m sick, what I have is my yearly bout with bronchitis so I’m coughing, chest congestion and perpetually dizzy or lightheaded with movement, so I’m not driving anywhere. I’m just fatigued where I want to stare at walls or the tv screen  3 days indoors, I’m even doubting myself to type proper so I might take time off. Mark, if you need an MST, let them now. I think I might take 3 more days off. :thud:

And everything I want to watch on Netflix is a different language and needs subtitles,I ain’t got time for that  :pout:

kiamay 12-14-2019 03:48 PM

Oh no! I hope you feel better soon! That sounds bad! Do you have someone to look after you?
I was ill twice in November but I managed to do all six concerts we had. Luckily my fever boiled everything to death quickly both times so it didn't take too long to get back on my feet.
Still, I'll be happy when the holidays begin so I finally have time to grade all the papers that are piling up.

PhoenixRising  How are you?

Meliana 12-15-2019 08:52 AM

Hi all!

Welcome back, Kia!

I passed my exam, I did very well by all accounts. :)

I hope you feel better soon, Leanne.

We did most of the decorating yesterday. My daughter did her final dance performance which was good, as she's not feeling well, so it's good it's all finished.

Today we went Christmas shopping so the kids could buy presents, and then we put some lights up outside.

I have an ear infection, and couldn't hear very well, I got something for it when we were out though.

Kia, my mom dropped off enough chilli for a couple of meals with some buns.

I’ve been home 4 days straight and my painful cough isn’t so bad but I’m still lightheaded and dizzy so all I want to do is literally lay in bed stil aside from eating.

But I think I will go to work tomorrow cause my Mondays are pretty easy.

Congrats, Claire! you’re so smart! I bet your place looks pretty all Christmassy!

I feel guilty when I don’t post even cause of illness.

My cat isn’t a fan of me not being out much with him! He just hopped up on my bed meowing haha!

I’m watching “vlogmas” on YouTube when people put videos of their Christmas doings daily up to Christmas!

Glad to see you back Kia :back_hug:

kiamay 12-15-2019 11:54 PM

 I hope your Monday goes well!
And your kitty sounds so sweet :D

Claire, how awesome! Congrats   Was that the final one or are there more classes to come?
Ear infection sounds really annoying. I hope it goes away quickly.

I decorated last week as well. Just a few tiny things in the windows and baubles everywhere but no tree
And I was also glad when I found all the wooden figures of the Nativity scene. I still had them from last year. Need to take them to my mom.

Yes I have the second half of the course to go. The second and final exam is in April.

Yes, I can't hear well at all today. I might go in the chemist and see if they can recommend something for it. I need to go to the Post Office and the chiropractor today as well.

Thanks Leanne. Don't feel bad about taking time off work, you'll recover better if you don't go back too soon.

:group_hug:

Nope, didn’t make it to work, I’m still annoyingly fatigued and dizzy, I can’t imagine being able to do a whole work day, so I’m in bed, but tomorrow I have to just go and either be improved or suffer cause I need my money!

Hope chiropractor was good, Claire!

Glad you found them, Kia!

I put out a few more decorations, should have done it earlier! Also started playing Sims 4 and before you know it, it’s been 3 hours

kiamay 12-17-2019 12:44 PM

I have never played Sims but it sounds like fun :)
I hope you feel better soon!

Claire, I think it is awesome you are sticking with it. I really hate exams. Not sure I could do it. Is oyur ear better?

Meliana 12-17-2019 01:02 PM

I played a version of Sims years ago, and loved it.

Not yet, Kia. I'm watching TV with the subtitles on because I can't hear it! I did go to the doctor and got some medicine for it. I hope it will help soon, as it's painful, and it's annoying not being able to hear properly!

Yes I don't need to go back to see the chiropractor for 6 weeks, and he's going to send me some exercises to do to build up the weak muscles in my back.

That sounds bad, Leanne. Stay in bed and recover.

What amuses me in the Sims is all the snarky product descriptions of all the items to buy and the book descriptions for books to buy. Its so over detailed but if you read them, they are funny

I'm glad you dont have to go back to the chiropractor for half a year Claire. I hope the meds help your ear infection. I hope hearing comes back soon. (I lost my hearing in one ear with no sign of infection and had to take steroids for it to come back eventually)

Ok, well, I stayed home yesterday too, and today I'm here at work but I got all into a sweat and then :puke: at work here and I doubt I can stay the whole day. I should just write off the last two days, eh? But I think I'd need a doc note. :( :thud:

This is like lasting forever and once I think I feel ok, I come to work and feel like sick crap. I've been not at work since last Wednesday!

Meliana 12-19-2019 09:22 AM

I think you misread what I wrote Leanne, I go back to the chiropractor in a month and a half.

You don't sound well. I hope you're better by Christmas.

My ear is very painful at times. I just had to take some paracetamol. I find I can't do much either. I guess that's the way of it though when you're not well!

I had my second therapy session yesterday. Not as distressing as the first one though.

reason to believe 12-19-2019 02:38 PM

 yep, my brain is fried I read “months” instead of “weeks”. This is why I’m unsure of posting a lot while in my sick condition.

I see the doctor tomorrow for a doctors note from work and I’m going to ask some questions too. Right now, I wake up feeling fine but then in a while the lightheadedness comes back. I think last night I slept for 12 hours. Sleep refreshed but still lightheaded so I’m betting my hemoglobin levels aren’t so low. Can’t imagine driving or working actively like this :thud:

Do you have Christmas plans? I can’t Beleive it’s actually Christmas next week!

Yeah it feels like you can’t be too active when unwell. I’m sorry your ear is painful. Ear pain and tooth pain are the worst!

I’m glad the second session wasn’t so distressing. I’m really glad you are doing that and you have that resource available. You are so strong to have taken the step and following through

I was going to go out maybe but my shower has only cold water right now :irked: so there is no way I’m going out with unwashed hair so I hope the hot water comes back quickly!

Meliana 12-21-2019 01:30 AM

I hope the trip to the doctor went well.

I'm at home for Christmas and visiting my brother-in-law after New Year.

The pain has eased now. I just want my hearing to come back!

It's been making me think about how I'm reinforcing negative beliefs about myself. I forget to focus on the positive things going on around me.

I hope your hot water came back!

The flooding around here is getting worse. It just hasn't stopped raining! They are starting to hand out sandbags at the local gym. I can't believe how they can even consider building more houses. The sites where they are building new homes are flooding too.

I got a card from Kim yesterday. She's clearly still finding things hard, but I'm glad she was able to send it. She's sorry for being MIA right now.

kiamay 12-21-2019 10:29 AM

Oh, I didn't know you had started therapy sessions, Claire! That can be very helpful and provide many tools for all kinds of situations. Cool!

I had to accept that my energy is finite when sick as well today. I have a mean bronchitis and my lungs rattle like an old truck when I breathe  Also I am pretty sure a mini elephant is resting on my chest. Glad to hear the pain is getting better, Claire!
How is your lightheadedness doing, Leanne?

I saw flood pics on BBC. How come this is so bad right now? I mean, other than the obvious...

Did Kim say whether she is still in the same place? Or did she move?

Meliana 12-21-2019 12:50 PM

It's hardly stopped raining since the beginning of September, Kia. Also over the past few weeks we've had continuous heavy rain everyday and the rivers and streams can't cope anymore. The water table is at the top and there is nowhere for the water to go!

I'm sorry you're not well. Take it easy.

Yes she's still there.
