Hi!

I'm glad you have something to wear, so you don't have to think about that.

Euros? Where are they going for their honeymoon?

All of our wires are above ground here, Leanne, including the internet. MANY wires came down, throughout the neighborhood. It fried some, it melted some, it just snapped some. That doesn't even count all of the wires throughout the county, that were connected to main platforms. So, they've had to go from street pole, to street pole, one by one, and fix. and replace each one of them.. At my mouse pointer just spun and spun. Sometimes at facebook.

I’m glad you are connected to the world again, Kim

Yeah, they are going to Italy, lucky them! I always wanted to go back there since I went in 2010.

So your wires all hang above the street, pole to pole? My street and neighbourhood doesn’t have that, it must be all underground or something. That’s really annoying they literally fell down and melted, so tedious to fix!

Are Kevin’s friends gone back to Canada?

You should have read my book I sent ya, it’s a good book to read if you’re missing your friends.

Glad you don’t have to panic about your paperwork but why are they sooo flipping slow to send things?

Thanks. So am I. You have no idea how depressed I got, and had no one to talk to about it. I know it was irrational, but I kept thinking "what if I can't ever get back to my friends?" My cousin called me over the weekend, a couple of times, so, that helped.

I am SO relieved about my paperwork. That's a huge deal. Still, calling the federal government, when I know they hold my fate in their hands?! My hands and entire body, were shaking while I was on hold. This is a huge deal, an only happens every few years.

Yeah, in Va. Beach, ALL wires were underground-even when they first installed the internet. Cable, electricity, everything. But, we're a tiny, old-fashioned, behind the times area here.

No, they are here for 9 days. I don't know how much he'll see them. Thursday he gets the infusion treatment-the one that is supposed to be worse than chemo and radiation combined.

I'd go to Ireland though, if I had a choice. My mom went to Italy, and France, and a few other places, when my step-father's ship was docked over there. It's really cool you got to go.

I haven’t been to Ireland yet either! Or Scotland. But Italy has so much good food and really nice scenery and I’m an art person so seeing the originals of famous art was amazing to me. That “David” sculpture by Michelangelo in pictures looks ordinary size, but when you see it in person, it’s huge

Wow, the friends are hanging out for a real vacation, it seems, in such a small town?

I hope Kevin doesn’t feel too sick from that

So all you did was sleep and think?

I was kinda wondering about what would happen if you couldn’t come back too. I wish I could call you too. Stupid cross country Long distance costs!

It sounds like you had a great trip to Italy. That's the kind of places my mom went. I'm not into art, or food, so, I'm into landscapes and buildings I've seen of Ireland.

Yeah. There are many famous nationwide tourist areas around here, within a couple of hours, besides us being a nationwide tourist area. The Blue Ridge Parkway is a big draw. Lots of hiking, natural rock water slides, fishing, a casino, on an on. I can't do any of those things, so, boring for me being here. I did as a kid, though.

The side effects Kevin will have are worse than the chemo. Worse than the radiation. All in one infusion. Thanks.

Yep, sleep and think. Over and over and over. I don't understand how Twitter (low bandwidth I guess) would load, but not here, usually not FB. I'll never understand technology.

Yeah, that kind of long distance would be SO expensive. There are plans, for international calls, that aren't very expensive, but, I don't have a phone, so...

We could do snail mail. That would take forever and a day to deliver.

ETA-I spent so much time in bed, my cat took to sleeping at the end of my bed, all day and every night, just to spend time with me.

Yeah snail mail sucks especially on my side of the border!

Oooh, sounds like your area is very natural, like BC is. I don’t take advantage of the stuff available to me in this province with hiking, lakes and stuff.

Oh yeah, my cat does that too, he misses me when I come home from work, if I go onto my bed to rest, he spends all his time laying on my bed with me then be out in the bigger room.

I think is slow to load cause of the back log of a decade or so of old posts and boards etc.

Have to think of what to eat for dinner, I was missing some of moms cooking I haven’t had in ages, simple things like macaroni baked with tomatoes, beef and cheese, so good! Or cold tuna macaroni salad.. good for warm days like today.

Kitties are the BEST!

I didn't take advantage of the area in Washington state, either, except for Deception Pass, which I went to often. Never went to Vancouver, which was only 2 hours away.

Va. Beach, I think I took advantage of absolutely everything there, and in the surrounding cities and counties, all the way up to Richmond. The good old days, when I was in my teens, 20's and 30's.

That makes sense, about

Those sound good. It sucks not having real food, or home cooked meals. The good thing is you get invited over sometimes. Probably not often enough for your tastes though. I hope you have something yummy there.

One of my friends sent me Ramen, mac and cheese, peanut butter, and some home baked chocolate chip cookies (with both white and milk chocolate), and toilet paper, to get through until the 3rd. I'll wait until tomorrow or Thurs. to make mac and cheese, when I can have the kitchen to myself, to cook, and clean up.

Watching anything good? Law and Order for me. Martha Stewart is a judge on Chopped this season. No one wants to see cooking including a single lemon that costs $300.

Why does a lemon cost $300?

HGTV has a bunch of House Hunters episodes playing this evening so right now I’m just letting it play. In fact, the next hour is the International versions, one being in Italy, the other in Germany so it will likely interest me.

Aww, you never saw Vancouver? Too bad on that!

You sound like a beach babe type of person sun, fun, ocean!

Wow, what a great friend, are they local to give it to you! Are you still gonna go to the food bank?

Yeah on Saturday and Sunday I got invited over for dinner both nights so that was nice. I sometimes just crave and think about stuff we used to have and the likelihood I’ll have it again anytime soon.

It's some special lemon that only a person like Martha Stewart can afford. Hey, maybe it's harvested from another planet.

Ooh, those sound like great episodes of HH International for you. I'd love to see the Germany one. That's another place I really want to visit-mostly for castles though.

Nope. 2 hours from Canada, and never went. Met a lot of Canadians who were on Whidbey to see Deception Pass, and places like where An Officer and a Gentleman filmed.

I'm not sure about the food bank. Another call I just didn't make. I will tomorrow though. I think Friday is the day you go there. I also think last Friday of the month is where they also give you a box of things like canned food, etc. Plus, 20 pieces of clothing every week from their collections. I have zero summer clothes.

I was born to live at the beach. Water is everything to me, and ocean, just amazing. Seeing the dolphins was the best. Plus, all my guy friends were surfers, so I was always there. All kinds of festivals on the beach, concerts, US surfing championships. Plus, tanning.

That's hard, and sad, knowing you won't have meals like that so often, if at all. I'm glad you got to go over the weekend.

I didn't read the rest of the other thread, or all of this one, so if I'm missing something, let me know what it is.

Any plans for Friday, now that you're footloose and fancy free?

I'm watching Pearl Harbor, from thinking about it from a post on the EL&I ADD thread. of all the weird places.

I haven’t been to Germany either, but it would be nice to go there to see and experience the Christmas markets they have! Plus I like German food too.

Oh, I found out one of my streaming services has the MTV show “Daria”. With the character that my old roommate once told me I reminded her of Daria and 18 yrs later, I can finally watch the show and see what she meant, I made a photo comparison of me with her at the same age and it’s funny how I resembled her on FB if you missed that.

Food bank sounds like a great service for you, I say definitely go for that!

On Friday I just had to get my wedding gift, but I didn’t have any specific plan cause I planned to be at work I need to buy some household items, it might be nice to have a toaster for the summer for brunches.

How does ADD remind you of that movie!

I remember you saying she had said you remind her of Daria. I'm so glad you get to see it now! The only MTV shows I watched were The Real World, and Beavis and Butthead. (both from the very beginning.

I'm so excited you get to see that. I'll have to check FB. I haven't been able to scroll down the pages.

I hope you have some fun while shopping Friday. I think you definitely need a toaster, since you keep thinking about it.

Because we were talking about how OCD we were (it's also the OCD thread) about our usernames. So, we got on the subject of where mine came from, hence, the talk of Pearl Harbor, cause she guessed it immediately.

Instead of scrolling, you could probably just go to Friends and select me and my profile will have it most recent showing... hahah at 16, I had the same expression, arms folded and the hair and my glasses just needed to be dark, but they were round too funny. What’s even funnier is I was willing to pose that way in a group photo where everyone else was either smiling or not looking so grumpy like I was,

Yeah, it would be so easy to have toast or a bagel for breakfast during summer off!

I also need a broom and dustbin that I don’t have to bend down to use, a bin to hold my recycling bags in and a bathroom rug for in front of my sink.

Still haven’t eaten any dinner yet, after this house hunters I have to choose something from the freezer... I do have a frozen broccoli and cauliflower with cheese sauce I can have, also microwave popcorn is an option.

I can, now. Just only part of the page was showing for me, at all. I can't wait to see that. It so sounds like you.

I tend to like cereal in the summer.

Mine has a handle on it, so it's almost as tall as the broom, to sweep dirt into. I also have a really big, plastic, laundry basket that I put my recycling bag into. It will really be nice for you to have that.

Ooh, she sent me microwave popcorn, too. I vote go for the popcorn.

I had 1 1/2 corn dogs, but I'm hungry. 11pm though, so can't use the kitchen. Ooh, but I got a block of cheese, pepperjack.

I sent you an email with the pic

Yum, I like cereal too cause I have time to eat it in the mid morning. Never have time during work days for a meal prep breakfast

Yum I love pepper jack cheese. I’m so hungry now hahah, hours after you return, we start talking about food!

Okay. I will check, in a bit.

Yeah, when I was a kid, and had school, I always had cheese toast. I loved the cheese toasted so much that it was almost black on top.

Cereal was a definite summer thing, so I get that.

food is our favorite topic it seems.

I'm happy to see you, and spend time with you.

I'll finish my forms when you've gone to bed. Unless, I try to go to bed early. I have to get that mail out, and also keep an eye out for a package from FedEx, for my brother, until it gets here, so I'll have to be up most of the day.
