TFTNT!

Leanne, let’s traumatize Rae even further by naming this thread: Tell ‘em Laaaaarrrrgggge Maaaarrrrrrgggge sent ya! Bwahahahahaha!

I have been watching scary movies since as long as I can remember, but the one that really freaked me out was the original Evil Dead. Back when I was in college, my sister, my friend, and I had rented it. Soooo evil. Afterwards, my friend and I met up with another friend. We were all insomniacs and we would often drive around or walk around parks, schools, etc. That night we were out by some bleachers at a school –probably past 2 AM when a guy walked past us. My back was to him but my two friends who were standing in front of me could see him standing in the shadows, staring at us with a blank expression. Both of my friends were naturally very confrontational people; however it didn't take long for me to begin to notice genuine fear in both of their faces and then they said, “Quick let’s get out of here.” We all rushed to the car, and as we drove off, he came out of the shadows and started to walk in the middle of the street after the car. His movements didn’t appear quick but at the same time it seemed as if he was catching up with the car. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. Eventually, we managed to lose him. My friends said they both got heavy vibes that the guy was planning on hurting us. Dodged a bullet!

I can't tell if you're joking or serious about that title idea, Miros!

Your story about that guy chasing your car made me think about this:
https://youtu.be/3pf_eW8Qnsw

Good thing you had a car and got to it without anything bad happening! Was it an Evil Dead zombie ?

I just remembered this other movie that really scared me, more than Alien. It was about a mother who neglected her son who drowned and she brought him back via black magic. Her son arrives back in a thunderstorm and starts terrorizing her by playing a game of hide and seek while he threatens her with a knife in the dark. Totally creepy, it ended with her falling down the stairs and the son coming down them in the shadows and when he appears in the light, it wasn't her son, it was a demon! The face reveal always scared me to death!

Ack! The entire thing is on YouTube, so if you have 30 minutes to kill, laugh at or validate me in my trauma,

I’m being totally legit about the new thread title. It’ll give the thread a Halloween vibe.

That dude we saw that night was probably a sociopath. What else was he doing all by himself that late at night? Creepy.
There were other times when we would walk around the university past midnight. One time we heard somebody running behind us, toward us and when we turned around nobody was there. A different time, we were out there and saw a group of people dressed in weird costumes. One of them seemed to be carrying an automatic gun. The whole vibe was off, so yeah, we hightailed it out of there. Pronto. My mom used to tell me, “There’s nothing good out on the streets past 7 PM.” She was a bit paranoid. But yeah past a certain hour, I agree with her.

I don’t watch scary, ghostly stuff anymore, Leanne. I just finished S6 of TWD, but I just fast-forward through the zombie stuff. Bummed about the spoilers for S7 though.

I think walking around at night is scarier than scary movies! But actually, I used to walk outside and lock and unlock gates outside at night in a prison when the inmates were also free roaming outside, so I guess I'm no longer as afraid as I should be walking at night outside prison. But, I'm a homebody at night now, especially in fall/winter.

Um, why do you watch TWD fast forwarding the zombie parts? That leaves the boring survivalist stuff that never ends that bored me out of the show, the point of that show for me was supposed to be zombies creeping the people!

I think this October, every time I ask a question in the TPBM thread, it will be Halloween related just to keep in the mood!

I have a problem with scary movies. When I was in school a teacher told me that would have too much fantasy and I think he was right. I can watch series like Hannibal or splatter movies but when it gets more psycho I'm done. I had to quit TWD because the zombies followed me into my dreams and I could hear them breath and everything.

^ Use the fast forward button like I do!

Leanne, it took me forever to even give TWD a try. Zombies just aren't my thing. Halloween questions should be cool.

I like TWD but I"m not as enamored as a lot of folks. I like it but don't love it. In fact I get bored semi-frequently. Zombies aren't my thing either. But with the gross parts I am actually pretty detached. I usually think "man, that is some great makeup work! How'd they do that???"

Rae. I had that mindset when I was as young as 7. I think I was the only kid who was more into watching "The Making of Michael Jackson's Thriller" more than the video itself because I loved watching how they did the werewolf and zombie makeup on MJ and making the clothes all ratty and the entire creative process of behind the scenes. So now, I'm still am fascinated with good special effects and how they made it happen. I guess that's why horror movies don't scare me as much as others as I usually am questioning the behind the scenes workings...

If zombies aren't your thing, Miros, what is your "thing"?

Zombis really fascinate me but I can't watch it without getting psycho
But I really like the "Thriller" Video.

Leanne, I don’t really understand what you mean by what’s my “thing,” and I definitely have no idea what Sandra means by stating that zombies make her get psycho!!

Matt, I’m sure the tattoo looks great!

We are finally be experiencing good hair day weather here. Oh yeah! At last, a few days out of the year when I don’t get to look like Einstein.

If you haven’t done so yet, you can check out the thread for the 16-year celebration; it is up now. 16 years! You can change your icon into a celebration one for a couple of days… if you want.

^ I mean aside from X-Files, Miros, what's your passion? For some people their thing is zombies, romance novels, superheroes, Survivor show, I think my "thing" over all is paranormal scary stuff, in books or shows. That's why I love the Halloween season, it's all around me then lol

Yay, so happy with the cool new thread! And really nice icons for this month, I'm probably going to be a frequent icon changer in October which is unusual for me great jobs on the icons, guys
