Was that on BBC? Or Nickelodeon? It's about the family that moved to a new town and weird things happened? If it's the one I'm thinking for some reason it reminded me of The Goonies!!

I think it might have been on Nickelodeon but I watched it on channel 4.

Yeah it's about a family that moves to the town of Eerie in Indiana and it is an incredibley weird place. Their son and a friend of his team up and investigate all the strange goings-on.

It's a fantastic show! I worried it might be rubbish now and that I only liked it as a kid but watching it on DVD and it's still brilliant.

^I've heard of that show, but I don't think I ever watched it.

BTW, anyone else watching last night's Bones think X-Files.

erinw 05-09-2009 06:34 PM

^ Yes, definitely. I was kinda irritated by the similarity at first, but then it played out differently, so I ended up liking the episode. I still think it was a pretty blatant copy, though.

Cindy3138 05-10-2009 06:54 AM

Yeah, if I didn't like the show so much I think it would annoy me.

Just started watching True Blood and it definitely made me think of the ep Bad Blood. Also the guy that was in the S2 ep Blood is on the show.

 I agree. But I must say I do remain a bit irritated at the blatant copy of The X-Files. To me, there is no comparison between the shows, though, so ultimately it's okay, I guess.

^ Thought the same thing the moment I saw the promo for this episode. Still a bit irritated but I think the writers did their job rather well.

Cindy3138 05-13-2009 03:36 PM

At least we know Booth won't get abducted by aliens. But yeah, I like how the writers on Bones are handling this storyline too. After a slow start to the season it's been getting good again, and Zack is back this week :D.

JayDeeMac 05-13-2009 04:15 PM

Watched that episode of Bones but at the time the X-Files similarities never occured to me.

Yeah, the writers handled it well. But what was up with the season finale??? I was so confused when watching it. Though it was quite funny in spots, I thought it was rather silly. Then the ending scene with Booth and Brennan, I was like "WTF?!!" So, was it all a dream of Booth's? I assume that they didn't sleep together then.

Cindy3138 05-17-2009 10:11 AM

I've only seen the first 10 minutes (I have it on my DVR to watch eventually) but yeah it playing out like some AU Fanfic :irked:.

erinw 05-17-2009 03:22 PM

You'll have to let me know what you think of it once you watch it all.

BTW, I love your Breaking Bad icon. :)

Cindy3138 05-18-2009 08:20 PM

Thanks :), the last 4 or 5 eps have made me a pretty huge fan of the show.
Oh and I noticed that John Shiban is working on the show now as a consulting producer.

erinw 05-19-2009 05:45 PM

^ I have only watched the first season on DVD. It's quite an interesting show. I can do without some of the nudity, but I must say that the show is very thought provoking. Makes you wonder what you'd do if you were dying of cancer and wanted to make sure your family would be all right. Bryan Cranston is a terrific actor.

So, did you watch Bones' season finale in it's entirety yet?

Cindy3138 05-20-2009 01:48 PM

 S2 is even better (IMO).

I watched it today, I thought it was okay. Liked the Sweets/Gormogon joke (since I still think it would've made a whole lot more sense that he was Gormogon). The ending was sad though, poor Booth :(.
