It is a little strange to me that it takes sooo long to edit and put together just 8 episodes, The X-Files has really spoilt my expectations I think

True, it just seems like the editing process takes so many months now after filming is completed, compared to how quickly they used to get episodes out in the 90’s and 00’s. Hopefully it will be worth the wait anyway!

Who knows why but maybe people aren't overworked and killing themselves to ensure a show is out immediately.

It is definitely better that shows aren’t expected to product 24 or 25 episodes a season any more, that was a bit too intense

Quality over quantity as far as I'm concerned. I don't know if more episodes means more money but as long as the show is good, I couldn't care less how many episodes are in a season.
