I so agree, to me MJ was the female lead I'd like to see explored, and while I'm leaning towards Jason/MJ, she had chemistry with Chris too, and she was just an all around appealing character.

But like I said above it's a case of the "lead actress" bombing once again. It happened with Mischa, and it's happening here. People never seem to fall for the lead girl or the lead pairing. I don't know why they don't get the more talented actresses as leads instead of sticking them off to the side as the friends or side-kicks.

That is exactly what i thought when she came out of the swimming pool.
Overall the pilot was not bad. I might watch a few more weeks. If i compared it to the O.C pilot than North Shore did not fair so well.

[COLOR=dark-blue]I watched the pilot and while it wasn't great, it was a fair show. Often pilots are that way. For a summer series, it was enjoyable enough. I'll definitely give it a few more episodes to see if the characters grow on me. [/COLOR]

I didn't get to watch it last night, but I taped it and watched it just awhile ago. I think this is one of those shows that you are either gonna love it or hate it. I thought it was good. I liked MJ's character. She seems very strong willed and funny. Jason was cool, especially the relationship with his father. I hope they delve into that. Brooke Burns' character (is it Nicole? I can't remember) seems a little weak at first, but then when she was playing poker and talked to that teenage girl, I started to like her more. I Gabriel. That's all I am gonna say about him. And I can't wait for Amanda to come on. So far, I am not shipping any two character yet. I liked the Jason/MJ chemistry (especially that line about how she ran naked through his yard at the age of five ) but then again, I like the whole Nicole/Jason thing too!

Last nights episode was awesome! The whole Gabriel and that 15yr old pissed me off though. I hate girls who do that...

Jason was cute, Too bad him and MJ are just friends... But oh well MJ's too guy is a hottie!

It was really weird for me to see Brittany Daniel's character turn out to be a lesbian because I was so used to see her as Jessica Wakefield in Sweet Valley High (remember the TV show long ago? I saw a few eps dubbed in Italian a few years back)

It was a good pilot and I recognized a lot of stars. Corey Sevier for one though his blond hair here threw me through a loop at first. I remember him mostly as Trip in Black Sash (I have an ep on tape and I watched it recently so that's why that's in my mind.)

I might watch another ep or 2 to give the show a chance, but the pilot really didn't do anything for me. It reminded me a lot of Las Vegas, but not as good.

Okay here are my thoughts...

Is it The O.C.? HELL NOOOOOO.

I thought it was OK. I seriously do not think that it will top The O.C.

The eye candy is great... it's sorta Baywatch - meets Las Vegas to me.

I do not like Brooke Burns as an actress, I would much rather love to see Tiffani Amber Thiessan in her role. The whole chemistry between (done forgot her name) and Jason, is sucky, there is none. The whole I did not know you worked here, I am not jealous, I am engaged, we all heard it and we all know it, but we know where it will go to.

I kinda liked the banter between MJ and Jason though, you can tell she cares alot, she may even have feelings for him...

The Whole gabriel vs.. Veronica,,,, that was so laughable and such a forced storyline that it did not work. We all saw it coming a mile away, and it still ended up sucking, although he is gorgeous... so it is already the beginning and he has already been arrested and accused of assualt.

Oh and what's his face grabbing what's her face and getting pissed at her out of the blue for not taking him up on his offer. WTF ever... then MJ stepping in and yelling at him... hmnnnn I thought it would get better, but nope.

Britney Daniels role was useless, a waist of time if you ask me, just like on Dawson's Creek.

Jay kenneth Johnson, seems to young for MJ IMO, but oh well.

so overall, it did not suck to bad, to where I will not tune in Monday to see Amanda Rigetti, I love her as Hailey and I hope she does not leave The O.C, but I want to see her in this role.

I watched part of the encore last night and Brooke Burns still sucks as Nicole, or Nickie or whoever she is.

I agree that the show is a lot like 'Las Vegas', with a resort instead of a casino, but the Hawaiian setting will hopefully lead to different types of storylines than those on Las Vegas.

The think that irked me was the camera tricks they used. It was clearly not enough. I liked it but they should have used more instead of two of three. It does look a lot like Las Vegas and not the O.C. Even the critics said that. But LV tends to focus more on the problem of the day and their personal lives are in the background. North Shore is the opposite of that and I'm not sure that formula works.
