So Ruby's grandfather on NCIS last night:
His character's name was Ray Jensen. He had been in prison for murder for 48 years. He was 18 during Vietnam. He was accused of murdering his superior officer/boss/whoever. The dead guy and Ray were actually friends. Only it turned out the dead guy killed himself! The dead guy had been recording messages for his wife instead of writing her letters and on the last one, was his suicide speak. But it got lost at the post office so she never got it until a couple who were turning that old post office into a restaurant found it and gave it to her. There was never a real investigation into the guy's death because Ray confessed. Turns out he was just drunk and passed out when the guy killed himself. Another Marine in their unit witnessed the whole thing but keep quiet for all the years (He's a little racist.)
