You are now watching MADtv!

This past year I've actually found myself missing the first half-hour of SNL because MADtv has been getting consistantly funnier these past few seasons and I want to keep watching the whole hour. The spoofs and impersonations are more deadon (the recent "Britney Against Madonna" video comes to mind) and the original sketches are hilarious (I really like the addition of Michael McDonald's office manager character who calls everyone a "sneaky snake"). Plus, the red carpet interviews are always entertaining. Although I have to admit that I think that Will Sasso, Debra Wilson and Alex Borstein were better red carpet interviewers.

MAD TV has been wicked funny this season. Stephnie Weir's portrayal of DOT has to be the funniest thing ever.

Same here. It was great to see her guest star in the 200th episode. I loved it when they had her read the eye test at the DMV and she said: "Live from New York!"

I love Nicole Sullivan. I miss her so much. I loved seeing her at the anniversary episode, and she went, "See you in another hundred episodes."

Miss Swan is defiently my favorite character. I love her voice. My friend Maggie does a perfect impression of her and it cracks me up every time. Have you guys seen the one where Miss Swan works as a erotic phone operator?

I also love Stephanie Weir.

I love Miss Swan, always a great show when she's on. And Stewart. Stewart is probably my favorite character Love his mom too

You hit the nail right on the head! I love Miss Swan and Stewart, and Stewart's mom too. My fave is Funky Walker Dirty Talker.

Some quotes from Desperation Lee:

I wanna climb up on your turntable and get stuck in your groove.

Man, you look as smooth as exlax and twice as sexy

Baby! I wish I was some kind of astronaut so I could get caught up in your black hole.

Baby, I want to get out my telescope so I can take a good look at uranus.

I want to get inside your church and start speaking in tongues

I wanna open up your liquor cabinet and pull me a stiff one.

I wanna make like Winnie the Pooh and get my nose stuck up in your honey jar

They're lucky to have her. She certainly makes up for all the great castmembers who have left the show recently.

Defiently.

I love that sketch where she's the like sixteen year old doctor... I can't remember what it's called.

Dr. Kylie Johnson.

I like the one where she was going to deliver a woman's baby and then she realizes that she used to date the father-to-be.

Cruel Irony 11-25-2003 08:53 PM

I like the one where she's in the middle of an operation and she gets arrested... and then it turns out to be a male stripper!

Mysteria 11-25-2003 11:57 PM

I use to watch this show all the time, though after Nicole Sullivan left I slowly stopped... I saw a few afterwards but not many.

I agree. They were really smart adding her to the show. She does the best impression of Anna Nicole, among other things.

I love Dot's glove...when she gave her dad head lice? That was great. And when she went into the dryer...welcome to dingy town.

Peace~Jordan

The one that really cracked me up was recently when Stephanie played an old woman in a nursing home and they had a television talk show live from the home, it was hilarious!

I wanna have Will Sasso's babies...

Is it wrong to find him hot?

Superabo 11-28-2003 11:33 PM

I kinda do too, sarzy.

Anyway, I love this show. It is 10 times funnier than SNL, IMO. One of my favorite things on this show has got to be Bobby Lee's impression of Connie Chung.

Maliejandra 11-29-2003 02:35 PM

This show is hilarious. I love the music video spoofs and the red carpet interviews. I think Ike Barinholtz (sp?) does a really great job with them. I taped the one with The Hulk when they were at the Daredevil premiere and I laugh everytime.

I must admit. Ike and Josh are hot. But that is NOT why I watch the show. (and seeing them make out was just... strange. And gross. And not funny.)

I think Michael MacDonald really carries the show. Stuart is a riot everytime. He seems to be in almost all of the sketches. The Depressed Persian Tow Truck Man! haha The sneeky snake guy is pretty funny sometimes too.

Stephanie Weir really annoys me sometimes though. Dot can be funny sometimes but more time than not, she annoys me.

Miss Swan was so great. The first one I saw of her was when she went to the movies. That was great.

And I miss Will Sasso's Lance Bass impression. "I'm Lance Bass!" *BIG EYES*

I miss Debra Wilson and her Oprah sketches! Those were my favorite along with Stuart! And they were dead on. They annoyed my mom so much becuase she loves Oprah, but they were great. Oh, and Debra's spots on the Price is Right where she'd jump so much her boobs would fall out! haha

I loved the skit where they imitated the woman from Lady Marmalade.

VarsityChick 11-30-2003 11:17 AM

Does anyone remember those skits with Stephanie and Debra where they were two students making videos for school? And one would be videotaping as the other approached some stranger on the street to try and get an interview (or something along those lines).

Cursed 11-30-2003 06:23 PM

Yeah! Stephanie still does those. Except now she does them with Paul Vogt as her Canadian cousin Natalie and sometimes with Josh Meyers as her little brother. I think the first one she did with Paul as Natalie was when she was doing a video called "My Big Fat Canadian Cousin" and she wanted to prove that the jocks and cheerleaders would tease her cousin just because she was fat. But instead they ended up thinking that Natalie was cool.

The last one they did was when they wanted stage a fake video for America's Funniest Home Videos. It was so funny.

Maliejandra 12-02-2003 04:30 PM

Cursed! haha. Maybe if they show it again, I'll see it in a different light. I just watched it and thought, "They're so trying to appeal to the masses." Like when on SNL and they did that gaystrogen skit... only that commercial was funny. I don't know...

Anyways, the rerun was good. I was excited that I got to tape the Fighting Temptations (or whatever that movie is called) premiere thing because the Joan Crawford thing. I love her.

But I miss the Oprah and Dr. Phil spoofs.

sarzy 12-07-2003 08:27 PM

Man, this sucks! I'm still getting 4 yr old reruns where I am, and then occassionally they show some new epis.
