Ok. Here it/they go. In this post and the next you will see my "potential" fan-fiction novels/screenplays concerning the "Charmed" world.
The first (below) is titled "Keeping the Karma". It was my hope that ALL actors involved in the original series would reprise their roles. The next one is titled "Wiccan Warriors" and again is a possible contender for a reboot of the series given that many/some will reprise their originating role from the series. "Wiccan Warriors" will be in the following post and it is based on the children of the "Charmed Ones". PLEASE, keep in mind that not ALL of the kinks have been worked out. I "need to.have to" find a child of a "Charmed One" who's birthday is ON the Autumnal Equinox. Further research to be done for sure. I sincerely hope that you and pretty much everyone else takes a gander at what work I've done. Just PLEASE keep in mind that it is NOT complete and of course the project is always subject to change. I only ask that if you have negative feedback or questions... to PLEASE privately message me. Side note: When a writer writes and puts out their work(s)... they are essentially baring their soul. So please... be sensitive and be kind. Thank you! I certainly DO NOT mind honest and open critiques. However, cruelty is NEVER good. Anyway, here goes... "Keeping the Karma". Keeping the Karma A novel/screenplay/”Charmed” fan fiction By: L.L. Hartley CHARMED “Keeping the Karma” By L.L. Hartley Writer’s First Draft Wed., Nov. 13th. 2014 TEASER FADE IN: INT. MANOR – FIRST FLR - ENTRYWAY - DAY PHOEBE rushes into the manor heading towards the stairs PIPER in the sitting room sees PHOEBE and catches up to her PIPER Whoa, whoa, whoa! Where are you going? PHOEBE PHOEBE on the first landing looking down at PIPER No time to really talk. I think that Prue’s soul is in danger. I’m heading to the book to see what can be done. PIPER Wait a sec missy. Where did this come from? Did you have a premonition? PHOEBE PHOEBE fidgeting Uh… not really. PHOEBE turns and continues up the stairs with PIPER behind her PIPER What do you mean by not really? INT. MANOR – SECOND FLR HALLWAY PHOEBE Well, Pen was practically screaming so I picked her up and when I did I saw Prue was being reborn into evil. Once I saw that, Pen stopped crying. PIPER Are your powers down? Did you give her your powers or did she inherit your powers? PHOEBE None of the above that I can think of. I’m working fine. PHOEBE flashes a big smile, turns and goes up the next flight of stairs with PIPER following PIPER PIPER shaking her finger as she follows PHOEBE Oh I know that Cheshire grin. What are you hiding? PHOEBE I’m not really hiding anything. I just wanted to make sure of something before I open my mouth. PIPER And that anything is? INT. MANOR - ATTIC PHOEBE PHOEBE fidgeting again Well, I think that Pen is kind of like a home security system… only human. She sounds off when bad or evil is about to happen. It makes sense that I can’t foresee everything. She is a gift with a gift to help me. PIPER So, because of Pen you saw Prue being reborn as evil? Do you think? Hm… PIPER points to the book and walks to it PHOEBE close behind Both standing in front of the book PIPER looks through it CLOSE UP on the Karma page PIPER PIPER reading out loud from the book “To keep the balance of good and evil, a soul can be reborn as the opposite of it’s previous life.” PIPER looks at PHOEBE PIPER Oh, no! This is not good! Not good at all! FADE OUT. END OF TEASER ACT ONE FADE IN: PIPER Oh, no! This is not good! Not good at all! PHOEBE That is exactly what I am thinking. Prue’s soul is about to be reborn. We need to keep the karma. PIPER Oh hell no! PHOEBE Does it say how we can save her soul from being reborn? They both scan the page disappointed PIPER How can we help Prue if there is nothing in the book? I’ll call Leo and you call Paige. PHOEBE turns to walk away, PIPER tries to call LEO; the karma page of the book catches their eyes as an addendum is being written PHOEBE Thank you Grams! PIPER reading out loud PIPER “To keep a soul in all good graces, it will take all of the familial faces. Young to old, alive to passed. Good and evil will be amassed. Magical or not, none should be forgot. From beginning to end, they all will defend. The battle will be for just one soul And fought upon a neutral knoll.” PIPER looks to PHOEBE PIPER Oh my. It says familial faces. That must mean everyone that we are related too dead and alive! We need every- one for this. This is definitely beyond a power of three spell. You call Paige. I’ll call Leo. LEO! PHOEBE takes out her cell phone and dials PHOEBE Paige, we need you. PAIGE and LEO both orb in PAIGE and LEO What? PAIGE and LEO look at each other PIPER and PHOEBE Prue’s soul is in danger. PIPER and PHOEBE look at each other LEO The only way a soul can be in danger is if it is about to be reborn. PHOEBE Well, that’s what I saw. PAIGE You had a prem? PHOEBE Yes and no. PAIGE Uh, what do you mean by that? PHOEBE Well, Pen’s alarm system was going off. She was screaming. So, I picked her up and I saw Prue being reborn as evil. PAIGE and LEO Pen’s alarm system? PHOEBE It appears that when ever bad or evil is around, Pen gets highly upset or worse, depending on how bad the evil is. When I picked her up and saw, she stopped screaming. PAIGE Ooh, that would make me a cranky baby too. PHOEBE You got it sister! PAIGE So, Prue’s soul is about to be reborn and it will have bad karma? How do we stop that from happening? Can we stop it? PIPER Yes, we can stop it but it will take literally take everyone in the family alive and dead to do it. PAIGE goes to the book and reads PAIGE Yep, that pretty much tells me that it’s not that simple and definitely needs more than the three of us. PIPER Didn’t I just say that? Leo, what do you know of the neutral knoll? LEO About all I know is that it’s a place that is neutral where war is waged for a soul. PAIGE Uh, duh. LEO I’ve never been to it or seen it and I have no idea as to where it is. Why don’t you call Prue and ask her. She might know more about it since it is about her soul. PHOEBE Good idea! Thanks Leo! PHOEBE frowns remembering PHOEBE Uh, I thought that we couldn’t call to her. LEO Enough time has passed. You can call to her now. PHOEBE Yay! PIPER Honey, why don’t you go check on the kids while we talk to Prue? I’m sure that they’d be happy to spend some time with you and while you’re at it please get Coop, Henry, Billie and all the kids here. Thanks! LEO Sounds good to me. LEO exits PAIGE grabs the white candles, circles them and lights them PIPER, PHOEBE & PAIGE stand together hands interlocked PIPER, PHOEBE & PAIGE Hear these words, hear my cries, spirit from the other side, come to me, I summon thee, cross now, the great divide. PRUE appears in a swirl of bright lights and crosses the threshold PRUE Well, it’s about time! What took you so long? PHOEBE jumps up and down hugging PRUE PRUE hugs PIPER PRUE takes PAIGE’S hands into her own PRUE It’s an honor to finally meet you Paige. You’ve done an outstanding job being the glue between these two. PAIGE smiling PAIGE Thank you. PRUE pulls PAIGE in for a hug and is joined by PIPER and PHOEBE PIPER Uh, Prue. Not to rain on your homecoming but we need to know. How much time do we have to save your soul? PRUE Much like every witch has 48 hours to decide bad or good once she has become aware; a soul has 48 hours once the decision has been made to have it be reborn. The soul can not fight for itself and has no say. PIPER So, how do we stop you from being reborn and into evil? PRUE You can’t stop me from being reborn. You can only stop me from being reborn as evil and instead keep my karma as good. PIPER Well, how do we do that? PRUE Every single person in our family tree, of legal age, dead or alive will have to fight for my soul. Those blessed with good karma will fight to keep me good and those with bad/evil karma will fight to make my soul evil. PAIGE You mean to tell me that we have to fight our evil twins? Again? PRUE Yes, and then some. PAIGE Oh man. PIPER Why don’t we all go downstairs and have a pow- wow about this since it does involve THE entire family?! They all exit the attic INT. MANOR – SUN ROOM The sisters enter the room PRUE drops to her knees upon the sight of the children CHILDREN (except for HENRY JR.) look up, run to PRUE WYATT and CHRIS Aunt Prue is here! MELINDA, PRUDENCE, TAM and KAT Aunt Prue! PARKER Aunt Pwue! HENRY JR. engrossed with toys HENRY JR. Who? PARKER Parker turns to HENRY JR. with hands on hips AUNT PWUE! Still hugging PRUE This is what family is all about. Pulling together and LOVE! They are ALL SOOO beautiful! PIPER As you can tell, we all have kept you in our lives. Now... here is "Wiccan Warriors".
Wiccan Warriors A screenplay/novel/ “Charmed” fan fiction written by L.L. Hartley Chapter One Another beautiful day in San Francisco “Wyatt! Chris! Melinda! It’s time to wake up and get ready for school!” Piper called from the hallway while knocking on the doors of first the boys’ room then her daughter’s room on the second floor of the Halliwell Manor as she managed a basket full of laundry to be washed. “Come on sleepy heads! It’s another beautiful day in San Fran!” Wyatt groans from under his blanket in the room that used to be his Aunt Phoebe’s room. He now shares this room with his younger brother Chris. The room is split into two sections with each boy having equal halves. Wyatt’s side looks smaller because he has more “stuff”. He just wants to sleep. He then realizes that it’s another day at Magic School. He didn’t have to go to a normal school like the non-magical children did. His school was special. He gets to use his magic! He opened his eyes wider and kicked the blanket to his feet. Chris was full of energy as he bounded out of his bed wearing his Sponge Bob pajamas ready to start his day. He quickly changed into his clothes that he would wear that day for school. While changing clothes he turned to Wyatt who just planted his feet on the floor and said “Come on! Hurry up! Let’s eat and go to school! I want to learn more about magic! I want to beat up bad guys when I am older!” Again, Wyatt groaned and then thought to himself “Why should I go to school if I am supposed to be the most powerful witch? Oh yes, that’s right, I’m supposed to learn how to use my powers for good as well as learn to be responsible with my powers, to learn the history of magical and non-magical beings. Phooey! I wish that I was older that way I wouldn’t have to go to school”. Of course this was the typical thought of all magical and non-magical children that were between the ages of 5 and 17. They each had their own personal reason for wanting to be older. Wyatt was never bullied at school as everyone knew of the legend of his birth, his parents and what powers he held. However, Chris and Melinda were bullied to some degree because some of the other children who were jealous or were taught to hate by their own jealous parents thought and that they should be as powerful as Wyatt. Thankfully Chris and Melinda knew that Wyatt would protect them from any and all harm. Down the hallway Melinda was now dressed for school. She exited her bedroom that used to be her Aunt Paige’s room and headed downstairs into the kitchen. She was in a grumpy mood. She didn’t like the idea that school took her away from her mother and father. She preferred to spend her days with her parents. She loved them very much. Wyatt and Chris were closely behind Melinda. Each of them sat down at the table for breakfast in the kitchen. As they gobbled up their breakfasts Wyatt heard Melinda’s thoughts. He heard her wish that she was older as well and was done with school so she could spend time with her mother and father. Wyatt now wondered if his other sibling and his cousins all thought the same way, that they each wished they were older. He read Chris’ mind and found that he was focused on getting to magic school. “Bummer” he thought. “I will try him again and then reach out to my cousins over time as I see each of them”. Leo (the children’s father) now entered the kitchen dressed in his magic school robe as he was the Dean of the school. The children were finishing up their breakfast as he patted each one on their heads, gave them a peck on the cheek and told each one that he loved them. Leo then grabbed a cup of coffee and a piece of toast and asked “Is everyone ready for school?” To which each of them said “Yes”. Piper then hands each of them their lunches then kisses and hugs them before she starts her day at her restaurant. The children then stand next to Leo as they all orb to magic school. Lessons and classes go on as usual for the trio on that day. When school let out Chris and Melinda went on to their extra-curricular activities while their father tied up business for the day before they all would head home. Wyatt took advantage of the extra time and went to a low deck so he could look down on his hometown. As he puzzled about the thought of himself and his little sister both wishing that they were older, he thought to himself that it truly was another beautiful day in San Francisco. Chapter Two A simple birthday wish The Vernal Equinox is quickly approaching. It’s the day that summer turns to autumn and it just happens so that it is Pru’s 8th. birthday. Pru, as in she was named for her now deceased Aunt Pru is the daughter of Phoebe (sister of Piper, cousin to Wyatt) and Coop (her father, a Cupid). The Charmed Ones, (the sisters three, Piper, Phoebe and Paige) along with their spouses and children, the non-magical parents and their children whom know of the magical world) all gather for her birthday at the Manor. This a great opportunity for young Wyatt to probe the minds of his cousins as he never forgot about Melinda’s wish and his own that they each were older. Children of all ages (magical and not) are running about enjoying the games, the conversations and the laughter. It’s difficult for young Wyatt to gauge what his cousins think. But he corners each one and finds their truths. He learns that the majority of his magical cousins and the children of Darryl and Sheila (who both are non-magical) all wish that they were older. On a side note, Pru loves it that her namesake Aunt Prue, grand-mother Patty and Great-Grandmother Penny are able to attend. It is now time for Pru to make a wish and blow out the candles. It’s mostly ceremonial to the non-magical beings but a birthday wish from a magical being can and has come true from time to time. It all depends on if the Elders are listening, or in this case the most powerful witch ever that happens to be your cousin! The cake, laid with 9 candles (one to grow on), is set before Pru. It is a chocolate cake with white frosting and eight red roses with a strawberry filling. Her favorite! Everyone chimes in and sings the birthday song. When the song is over Henry Jr. can be heard (still singing) as he finishes up with “You look like a monkey and you smell like one too”. Pru gives Henry Jr. a look of hurt as his mother Paige screams “Henry! That is not nice!” Henry Jr. withdraws a bit and apologizes. Phoebe turns to Pru and tells her “Make a wish honey”. She closes her eyes and draws in her breath before blowing out the candles. As she is doing so, Wyatt reads her mind and hears her wish. She too wishes that she was older so that she could distinguish herself from her namesake. Wyatt now thinks to himself, “If I am the most powerful witch then what is the harm in making her wish come true?” He then thinks to himself again, “I will do you one better cousin. I will make your wish come true but I will make it so that all of us magical children and Darryl’s non-magical children to age 10 years complete with life experiences and that it will still be this year moving forward and that our parents don’t age.” Pru exhales and blows out all nine candles. Everyone claps and cheers her for a job well done. From Wyatt’s point of view he sees time speeding forward. He sees the everyday lives of his own family, school and what happens there at Halliwell Manor. Time slows down and stops. It’s still 2014. It is now Pru’s 18th. birthday. All of the children are now 10 years older. He is happy to see that his parents, Aunt Phoebe, Aunt Paige and Uncles Coop and Henry have not aged at all. He was successful in helping Pru with her wish. Wyatt is now 21. Over those years, Chris (who is now 20) was granted powers by the Elders for his good deeds that now would rival Wyatt. Melinda (who is now 17) is not as powerful but she is working on that. Concerning Phoebe’s children, Pru (who is now turning 18) is closing in on setting herself apart from her namesake. She’s heading to college in a few days to get a degree in Social Services. Parker is now 15. He hopes that despite being born at the manor and on a day where no magical beings had magic that he can break that mold and be magical. Penelope is the youngest of Phoebe and Coop’s children. She is now 11 and wishes that instead of being an evil detector that she could destroy evil much like her mother did. Paige was blessed with the twins named Tamora and Kat. They are now 17. Tam has the ability of molecular acceleration. Kat has the ability of molecular deceleration. Sadly Tam was unable to control herself. She set a house on fire. Because of that both of the girls’ powers were bound. They will get their powers back when they learn to control them or when they reach legal age. As for Henry Mitchell Jr. He is completely non-magical. His biological mother was a charge of Paige. It was destined that his mother would die. Paige was sent to save him as it was he who was the innocent for her to save. His mother was near full-term in her pregnancy with him. As his biological mother drew her last breath Paige orbed him out of the womb and saved him. Henry is now 16 and looks forward to driving and dating. After the battle of “The All”, Inspector Darryl Morris gained a new respect for the sisters. The dispute between him, Piper, Phoebe and Paige now no longer existed. He was now back home in San Francisco along with his wife Sheila and their now adult sons (Darryl Jr. aged 25 and Michael aged 23 who now worked in law enforcement much like their father did). These are the things that Wyatt learned by watching closely of the sped up 10 years but also by reading the minds of those involved parties at Pru’s 18th. birthday. What Wyatt didn’t count on was that his evil equal would also have this same knowledge. After all, there is a balance between the two. For every good there is a bad. Chapter Three The Wiccan Warriors During the Winter break (from school) everyone gathers at the Manor to celebrate the Yule. The Winter Solstice, on December 21st. Wyatt, Chris and Pru are home from college. The boys attend the same college and Pru attends another. Wyatt is majoring in Political Science and minoring in Business Administration. Chris is majoring in Chemistry and as you already know, Pru is majoring in Social Services. All three are doing well in college. After all, they do have natural “gifts”. They do not abuse their gifts. They cast no spells, etc. while in college. They are just simply using what comes naturally for them. They all gather in the sitting room as Leo orbs the ceremonial Yule Log into the fireplace. He then orbs the flame of a candle onto the log and ignites it. Everyone cheers and wishes each other a Joyous Yule. Gifts are exchanged in front of the fire amid the love, laughter and chatter. Then the adults retire to the dining room for coffee and talk. Penelope wanders off to the sun room to play with her new toys and the remaining children, Wyatt, Chris, Melinda, Pru, Parker, Tam, Kat and Henry Jr. stay near the fireplace. Tam and Kat speak up at the same time and say “I was hoping to get my powers back for the Yule”. They were each displeased of the new matching winter coats that they got. They had worked hard to try and gain the trust of their mother. Then Tam spoke “What’s the use of us going to magic school when we can’t use our magic?” Kat then corrected Tam by saying “We do, from time to time, are given our powers to see if we can control them.” Upon hearing this, Wyatt asked them “Have you each worked on working together? Think about it. Tam, you have the power to accelerate and Kat, you have the power to decelerate. You’re supposed to work together. Uh hello, you’re twins! It makes sense”. They both reply with “No”. “Well, why don’t you both do you and me a favor? Each time that you are given your powers, request to work together and prove that you can handle your powers. I know that you two can do it and get your powers back permanently. Report back to me at the Vernal Equinox.” Wyatt ordered. “We will!” the twins replied synchronically. “At least you two have powers. I got nothing. I go to a non-magical school. I’m not special enough” Henry Jr. retorted. “You, me, both, cousin” Parker replied to Henry Jr. “Really? You two are mad that you are normal? It is what it is. What I would give to be normal. To not have to hide who and what I am. Every time I played softball in my neighborhood I wanted to orb out every time the ball came at me when I was at bat. I’m afraid of getting hit. I had to give up softball because of that.” Melinda stated. “Have either of you two guys ever thought that maybe, if you minded your p’s and q’s that once you turned 18 that either the Elders or even I could give you powers?” said Wyatt as he looked at Parker and Henry Jr. To which they both shrugged their shoulders and said “No”. “Why can’t you give us powers now?” asked Henry Jr. to Wyatt. “I can’t because both of you are under age, the children of a Charmed One and the Elders are watching. The Elders watch all magical beings.” Wyatt said to Henry Jr. “How about this?” Wyatt proposed. “It is fact that we are the children of the Charmed Ones. We are the next generation to fight evil and each of us wants to live up to that legacy. We want to improve on it. We want to, we need to do it. How about from this night forward we form our own group and call ourselves The Wiccan Warriors? And I promise you two, Parker and Hen, that I will bestow upon you gifts of your own when you come of age if and only if your hearts are true.” Both Parker and Henry Jr. agree to the pact of The Wiccan Warriors. However, only Tam and Henry Jr. know of Henry Jr.’s secret. On the other hand, Parker is still jealous of his sisters and cousins. The conversation continues. Each one agrees that when they are of age that they will band together and fight evil like their mother’s did. Penelope is now with the adults as they finish their coffee and conversation. Wyatt, Chris and the teenagers are concluding their meeting as well. Piper, Leo, Wyatt and Chris stand in line near the front door. As every one passes by them, everyone gets a hug, a kiss and an “I love you”. When the Wiccan Warriors are in front of each other they each give a tug to their right ear. It’s a safe sign, a signal to one another. After all witches can change their looks if they did a glamour spell. It is nearing the break of dawn when everyone leaves. They’ve all enjoyed the Yule celebration and saw the last embers of the log die out. It’s time for sleep now. Each one goes to their rooms and snuggled in with the feeling of contentment and joy. |
