What If Someone Else Was Death?

I just read this off of TvTome:

Quote:
Luc was originally supposed to develop into the "Jack" character (aka Death) by the season finale. When FOX realized this, because "Luc was a good boyfriend", they refused to allow this. So, the character of Jack Harper was created, and Luc was killed off in the season finale.
That would have been an interesting twist. I wonder what actually changed their minds, cause I'm not biting on the he needed to remain the good boyfriend.

Like we needed more reasons to hate Fox.
Could have been interesting. It wouldn't have been good for Tru/Luc, but then neither is Luc being killed off

Geez yeah like we need more reasons to hate Fox!

I would have loved it if it were Luc who were the bad guy cos that way it would be harder to hate him! I hated Jack from the beginnning and well I don't like Jason that much either so it's not easy to pick sides! But if it had been Luc, wow, talk about controversy! I would have loved that twist!!

That's so ... weird.

I wonder why we never heard anything about that before.

I think if Luc would have developed into death, it would have made for an even more dramatic storyline. I think I like the dynamic of the three characters in the end though (Tru, Jack, and Luc.)

Either way, they killed Luc. Which leads me to believe that that was their intentions all along. Meh.

Considering I never really liked Luc and am a big Jack fan I gotta say I'm happy with the way things went although Jack being the boyfriend could have worked.

The original description for Luc's character in the casting call was so much more interesting then what his bland character ended up to be on screen.

Luc was supposed to be this character with a haunted past, very dark and mysterious. Kind of like Angel.

But they ended up turning him into Riley. Stupid Fox.

Man that would be awesome if they'd done it the way they originally planned.

I totally agree... The first time I saw TC, Jack was in it, and I couldn't stand him from the start. Altho I did want to know what was up with him... But to have Luc as the Anti-Thesis would have been soo more interesting.

Ouch!

I'm not sure I would call Luc a Riley, but it may have something to do with the fact that I found Luc more attractive than Riley.

It would have certainly proven ... interesting in the end. Though I like the way things turned out. Jack turning against Luc provided for more conflict. And, come on, Jason Priestly rocked as the bad guy!

I have to agree with you there Lettie.

JP was a good playing the bad guy role, though, I hated him for certain reasons having to do with the season finale. I am wondering if the second season airs here, what the remaining episodes will be like.
