With the video, it was reported by a male assistant that he called into the room to joke about this video with him and the other producer and the guy just felt so uncomfortable and said it wasn't even relevant to the project the woman had been hired for. People are assuming it was Melissa Benoist or Katie McGrath, but the guy that reported it didn't say, and he shouldn't, really.

stlavin95 11-15-2017 07:32 PM

Just sounds like an massive ******* really. Apparently one of the actresses on the Royals has commented on the Mark situation and backed up the claims made by the OTH cast.

BlondieLeigh 11-15-2017 07:43 PM

Yep  -

Not sure if I'm reading too much into it, but -

"I am devastated to admit to myself, to my colleagues and to this industry that I too, have been exposed to this reprehensible behaviour"

"I am immensely appreciative of my studio and my network for listening to me, for being my partner in this conflict, and for taking the actions necessary to make things right."

Sounds like he did the same to her.

Yep. Same with Kreisberg. Why is he still only on a suspension? He should be gone.

Probably legal reasons, I can imagine that they have ironclad contracts and networks need to be careful so that they can fire them properly. I read this week that Netflix has a problem firing Spacey because his contract doesn't have a morality clause which is no reason to not fire a guy who is accused by several people but it just shows that this problem has been largely ignored considering contracts don't cover this. Hopefully this will lead to changes and contracts will protect victims and not abusers. When I read about the Spacey thing I was like: So this dude regrets nothing, huh?

From what one of the male writers has said, Mark seemed to promote people up the food chain so they would feel like they owned him. It's pretty bad that E! hasn't commented on it and I'm glad Sophia called them out on it.

He also mentioned that they were pretty much separated, the writers worked in LA.

Hope this the end for that skum Mark Schwahn, he was never a good writer. Dude always hyped himself up thinking he was writing Friday Night Lights, sorry bud OTH is no FNL.

WOW I am glad that actress for the Royals exposed him as well. Good for her.

BlondieLeigh 11-16-2017 01:59 PM

It should be the end of him. I've seen it suggested that these men deserve a second chance. No, no they don't. They've been doing this for years, they've had plenty of chances to change their behaviour.

stlavin95 11-16-2017 03:21 PM

^ It really should be, since he has done this on multiple shows.

One Tree Hill was definitely no FNL and that show was properly written better at the worst than OTH was at its best.

Upon reading a statement from the ladies of One Tree Hill, a statement from their Royal sisters could not possibly go unwritten.

Despite hearing rumours about his behaviour on One Tree Hill, those of us involved from the early stages went into the filming of the pilot hoping they were just that – rumours.

By the time we wrapped this had irrevocably proven not to be the case. It became all too apparent reading their statement earlier this week that the betrayal and anger so many of us had experienced during our time on The Royals is not exclusively ours.

And we were angry then, and we are angry now. This statement is a collection of voices from those women involved in The Royals who would like to finally respond to the behaviour of our showrunner. Who felt the inclination to abuse his power and influence in an environment where he had it over women who felt they did not.

This manifested itself in the repeated unwanted sexual harassment of multiple female members of cast and crew. Where we should have been excited to meet new female cast and crew members, we felt nauseating concern in case they too should have him track down their mobile number.

Where we should have offered our friends who auditioned for The Royals scene help and advice, we offered warnings about the man they would meet in the room.

More than all of this, where we should all collectively have felt pride over jobs hard won and roles much loved, we felt undermined as artists and creatives. And in many cases, no more than a sum of body attributes. Whilst voraciously condemning the actions of one man, we would like to make note of our gratitude to others.

Thank you to so many of the Royal men who ensured we were never alone in social situations with him and took two steps towards us for his every one. Thank you to the friends, loved ones and partners who supported us at the time and ever more so now in coming forwards. But thank you most of all to the women of One Tree Hill, whose solid gold backbones have moved us enormously. To you we doff our crowns.

Kind regards

The Ladies of The Royals.

And from Sophia on Hurley's response -

stlavin95 11-16-2017 03:46 PM

Wow, he definitely has to get fired now. Sophia' response to Liz Hurley is definitely true too.

BlondieLeigh 11-16-2017 03:50 PM

Yep, it's obvious he didn't do anything to her because she has more power than him and he knew it.

stlavin95 11-16-2017 04:28 PM

He knew he couldn't get away with it with her.

TwilightPrincess 11-16-2017 04:45 PM

There is still fans hoping for a OTH revival even after this news about him.

stlavin95 11-16-2017 04:46 PM

It's never going to happen and I thought that before this news came out.

BlondieLeigh 11-16-2017 04:50 PM

I think something like that would have to be down to the cast and the crew. If it's something that they want to do then it isn't our place to tell them they can't, but people suggesting it right now is just inappropriate, even with the cast saying they still want people to enjoy the show.

My personal opinion is if the cast/crew want to they should be able to, but without him involved or profiting from it in any way. I can't see why they would want to (and tbh can't see it happening ever and never could see it), but that's me, and I am not them.

stlavin95 11-16-2017 04:56 PM

If they are up for it and he doesn't profit from it, I would definitely support.
