not to bring the little ~fight back up again but I feel the need to clarify since I was one of the first to mentione lola/bash...I DO NOT ship francis/mary. At all. I like Bash as a character and I hate seeing him involved in one the CW's triangles of death. I'd much rather see brotherly scenes with Francis and a romance with Lola.

^Sounds like a blast...

Since then, I have actually been pleasantly surprised about how respectful the storytelling has been wrt to MF without sacrificing it for triangle shenanigans. It's a rarity that a show manages to make me feel this strongly about a pairing in such a short span of time. And I'm not convinced the triangle is "happening" the way you think it is. The writers and the marketing team don't seem to be on the same page on this issue, if you ask me. |

They can still follow the history of Mary and Francis and play with storylines along the way. That is what the majority of shows and films do. This is the CW. If they wanted a show to be completely accurate, it would be on the History Channel. The CW is made for drama and you can bet we will see a ton of it. I like all the characters so far and even though I favor MF, I also would like to see a little of MB. They are making it harder for me to believe that MB can happen though. I felt similarly with Elena and Stefan in TVD. They were the "epic love" that no one could break up and BAM she is completely "in love" with Damon. IDK... that sort of thing bugs me and I am starting to see it happen in Reign.
I am still a little confused about the flashbacks in the first episodes. Did little Mary play with little Bash as a child? I feel like we need more insight into Bash's past and his childhood relationship with Mary because I was under the impression from the pilot that the two of them were close. I watched it a while back, so my memory could be failing me. Also, is it considered a spoiler to talk about M&F historically? __________________

See with TVD I thought the writers tried their hardest to prove to everyone SE was this 'EPIC LOVE' but didnt feel it personally... DE always had this undeniable chemistry which started as early as their very first road trip in S1... For me it was a progression and happened organically and thats how i see MB... Its all personal preference... MB playing as kids, I'm not sure about... I think some would like to believe they did but I honestly dont see how they could have b/c wasnt Bash supposed to be hidden or kept some what of a secret as a child? Kept behind the curtains? I'm not sure... I think it would be cool to explore though and would love to see mini Mary and Bash have some time together that they didnt even remember they had till something jolted their memories... That would be cool... |

I see your point on TVD.

IDK.. it was weird to me when I first watched it and now I am confused about my interpretations of the pilot. I suppose I'll have to watch it again. I was understand the impression that Mary knew Bash. __________________

no... Mary and Bash never knew each other as children. Torr has said so.
The boy in the flashbacks was Francis...that's why it happened when FM looked at each other during the dance scene. And in the first flashback you clearly hear little!Mary saying "Francis is a girl's name". |

I see it kind of Dawson's Creek as well. It started off with Dawson and Joey seeming to be meant to be and then the chemistry between Pacey and Joey changed the course of the way. It happens sometimes where the show seems like it is going in one direction with a couple (A+B) and then chemistry between character A from the couple and character C comes as a surprise and the show goes with A+C instead.
