Just because they scheduled them to do stuff doesn't mean they are going to do it. I doubt they will. They don't *have* to. And imo, they shouldn't.

I'm just curious...why shouldn't they? Especially James, he may not get the best material, but he gets a lot. And I could be wrong, but he seems to like being on the show, no? Soph gets pretty crappy stuff, especially during s4, and IMO it's pretty obvious she's over the show (even though she'd never say it lol) yet she still does the promotion they want her to. It just comes along with the job.

No. But if I were them I wouldn't do that either. Though I figure they'll probably be a little bored by then so it's okay.

I don't understand why they shouldn't promote to tell the truth. I truly don't mean anything bad by this 'cause I love Joy, but isn't the promoting stuff part of the job?

I just think promotion is part of their job...whether they'll actually enjoy it or not is up for question but its one of the things that comes with the job as an actress and actor.

I really don't want to go into it. Because it would not be pretty. Suffice to say the others have already been compensated on multiple levels for playing "company men" and James and Joie have not.

It isn't part of the job or it would be required.

Unless it's in their contract, only the part where they turn up on set and act for the cameras is their job.

Some people do promotional work to promote both themself and their work, others do it to promote one or other of those things, and still others don't give a fig about promoting either one. Unless it's in the contract, all anyone can do is try to convince them it's a good idea... which based on Mal's most recent post, seems like a pipe dream.

It sounds more like additional "perks" than necessarily a higher paycheck. Sweeteners that make it worth their while - sweeteners James and Joy apparently don't get. Sounds a whole lot like being taken for granted.
