The Originals S&S Thread  EPISODE SPOILERSFamily is power. The Original Vampire family swore it to each other a thousand years ago. They pledged to remain together, always and forever. Now, centuries have passed and the bonds of family are broken. Time, tragedy and hunger for power have torn the Original Family apart. When Klaus Mikaelson, the original vampire-werewolf hybrid, receives a mysterious tip that a plot is brewing against him in the supernatural melting pot that is the French Quarter of New Orleans, he returns to the city his family helped build. Klaus’ questions lead him to a reunion with his diabolical former protégé, Marcel, a charismatic vampire who has total control over the human and supernatural inhabitants of New Orleans. Determined to help his brother find redemption, Elijah follows Klaus and soon learns that the werewolf Hayley has also come to the French Quarter searching for clues to her family history, and has fallen into the hands of a powerful witch named Sophie. Tensions between the town’s supernatural factions are nearing a breaking point as Marcel commands his devoted followers and rules with absolute power. For Klaus, the thought of answering to his powerful protégé is unthinkable, and he vows to reclaim what was once his – the power, the city and his family. I think Sophie would have a purpose once her neice and Davina return. I do not think that the other 2 girls will return. I think when Monique and Davina return Sophie will do anything to protect them and not let Davina go with Marcel or Klaus. __________________

Matt was an a-hole to Caroline because I always saw him as using her as a rebound or a bench warmer until Elena decided she wanted him back. Plus him scheming with her mom and pretending to be compelled was a horrible thing for him to do. He's a much better friend than boyfriend I think with her. Matt, to me, sucked as a character until S3. When he was no longer with Caroline and he just stayed the supporting friend he was a better character. I feel JP & Co. don't know how to write him in a relationship because when you see him with Rebekah he treated her like crap too. __________________

Okay, so spoilers. It was obvious the Marcel/Rebekkah spoiler was going to be having brought 'Daddy' to town. But what could the writers possibly have in mind for this story? All this does is find one more reason to have episodes with Klaus in a rage.
Plus it makes Marcel look absolutely dreadful. Seriously, Klaus saved Marcel from abuse and loved him. And Marcel in turn brings back Klaus's abuser and the man who tortured him? WTH? I can see Rebekkah wanting revenge for being staked and put in a box. But is it supposed to be justifiable for Marcel to do that just because Klaus was in the way of his sisters panties? I dunno. If Marcel owned being controlling and evil, maybe I could tolerate it. But him constantly judging on Klaus when he's engaged in his share of cruelty and betrayal pretty much makes his character irritating. Am I supposed to see him as the stellar, loyal, kind one? I mean we watched him turn people to build his army. We see him hold daylight rings over the heads of 'his' people. He created laws and solely doled out punishment like a dictator. His primary punishment was years of torture and thirst, buried and suffering. And now we add to that he was responsible for setting up the person who saved him with his worst nightmare. I don't get the writing on this show actually. It's like we are supposed to not like any of the leads. Hayley is dull and contrived. Potential if they'd build her a real werewolf story instead of focusing on a romance with Elijah. Cammie is pointless. Literally, she drives no story and her character is absurd. Klaus has become an evil caricature. I thought the purpose of the show was his growth and redemption? Elijah is pining over a woman carrying his bros baby. Hopefully the Celeste story will lead somewhere because he was always a fave previously. Marcel - well see above comments. Rebekkah is so inconsistent, I can't even figure out where they're taking it Sophie - she's pretty much just been irrelevant. The problem I'm having with this show is that there is nothing really to root for. No story, no couple, nada. Hopefully the Elijah/Celeste/Davina storyline will play out well  __________________

I've been absent a long time..I think I might have missed a few interviews because...
Somebody said something in the last thread about Julie saying Klaroline was over? WHAT?! Trolling, or has JP finally quit trying to hold everyone's hand? I mean what is his alternative? Cami?! Barf. And why wasn't there a mention of forest sex?! I mean, he could have at least had his viagra commercial bounce-in-his-step and be all smiley. __________________

Gosh, Davina was entertaining but she wasn't selling the show. She's starting to get a bit overrated, but it's reasonable since the other characters are so hard to root for. Like him or hate him, Klaus is the only entertainment, whether he's pissing you off or making you clap, he's doing his job either way.
I like the storylines, I just don't care for the romances. It's subtle not only because of klaroline but because they just know the chemistry between these characters are not working out. haylijah aside, but I really don't know what people see in that ship. Elijah has no legitimate reason for being in love with her other than her bump that he is disturbingly obsessed with, and their staring contests are the worst. __________________
