 I agree. I do not want to see them find out when something bad happens. It would be great (and painful) to see Deacon struggle with how to tell them and how to be there for them.

She should not find out he's sick when something really bad happens and he can't hide it anymore. I hope Scarlett treats this the same way she did his hand at the beginning of S2. She's going to do what's best for him whether he likes it or not. And that includes telling Rayna herself if Deacon won't.

That's kind of what I'm counting on. I can see Deacon not wanting Maddie to be scared or worried and wanting to protect her, but he just can't do that. I do think Scarlett will either do it herself or force his hand. He's going to need the support and love of his family and friends.

Scarlett's definitely not going to let him keep it a secret for long. She's hasn't let him sit around and feel sorry for himself after the crash or after Rayna accepted Luke's proposal. And I'm hopeful this will give us more Scarlett/Deacon stuff - I always enjoy seeing that relationship.

I can give Deacon a minute to wrap his head around this, but if it doesn't occur to him that he needs to tell Maddie within a couple of episodes, that's going to be...not good, lol.

I am really thinking that if that speculated title is the right one than it's probably going to apply to most characters sure mainly Deacon cause he is sick but I think it will also be about Gunnar having to say goodbye to his nephew (because are we really be stuck with that kid till the rest of the series), maybe one of the many many many recurrings will leave the show etc.

I actually do sort of think Layla may commit suicide, after this past episode. I think maybe that's why they're loading her on us. And Jeff isn't helping/is making it worse, and it'll only heighten Rayna's desire to take him down (if the one female artist he signed ends up offing herself).

I really hope the reason they are shoving her down our throat so much is because she is leaving soon.

It might be wishful thinking, lol. Not the suicide persay, just her leaving the show and not coming back.

soapbubbles511 10-25-2014 10:20 AM

Deb tweeted a while ago that 311 takes place all in one day (and I'd guess very soon after 310.. same day, next day). So that won't have given him a lot of time to process. Especially if combined with finding out that Rayna's dumped Luke

So I'll give him 1-2 more episodes to do it on his own or else Scarlett can go for it

she needs to leave seriously and they are writing her into a corner IMO.

Oh that's really interesting that everything will be in one day. Lots of fall out from 3x10 over just one day? Awesome.

I really hope you all are right and we see the last of Layla soon.

soapbubbles511 10-25-2014 10:35 AM

Luke and Layla both need to go very soon after the midseason finale.

Once it finally comes out that Will is gay there's no reason to keep Layla. She'll no longer have anything to blackmail Jeff with, Will won't have any reason to interact with her, she's not connected to anyone else. Whether suicide or her just disappearing she needs to be gone.

Once Rayna dumps Luke he needs to go too. They still haven't connected him to anyone else or given him any other purpose. He can disappear off on tour. Then in a couple episodes we can find out he's switched labels again and Jeff can be really screwed at Edgehill.

At this point I am wondering if they are planning to have him come out at all. They are stalling like crazy. Layla's death might have to be what makes him do it out of guilt which is not how that story should go but she needs to go.

I think it's reasonable for it to take him some time to process what's happening to him. Some people aren't good at laying things out for others until they have time to get their heads around it. The writers have to know better than to let it go too long though.

I could see Maddie getting mad too, when she finds out. Like Rayna kept that secret for thirteen years and she missed out on all that time with her biological dad and now she might not have much time left with him.

This is all going to be so heartwrenching all the way around. I think about how Rayna will react, how Juliette will react, how ZAG (or whatever part is still there) will react, even Teddy. I know they won't let him die, but they're going to kill us in the process.

Too many people know for it to not come out. Layla's bitter and unstable and if keeping his secret no longer suits her needs she'll out him. Jeff can't be trusted either if keeping Will's secret no longer serves his needs. And Will is getting more reckless. Deacon's caught on to what's happening.
