Rachel Bilson leads a stellar ensemble cast in this fish-out-of-water comedic drama about small-town living, big city attitudes and complicated love triangles. IMO, Joel should return when Wade thinks there is a chance back with Zoe and when Zoe's feelings for Wade has returned. As of 319 they shouldn't which mean that they need a scene at the end of 320 for both of them to Progress towards a state where Joel returning has an effect. I don't think they will have sex because that is lust and not feelings. Feelings is a kiss imo.

So after 320 Wade should be hopeful and Zoe should be dealing with her "newfound" feelings for Wade. This is wher Joel returning makes most sense imo.

They need to find them on their own I agree. Which is why I don't see anything happening between them after the fire, that's just adrenaline not feelings.

In a positive light, if Joel does interupt something in 320 it could keep WZ from falling back into their sex pattern if they kiss and therefore for them to jus dismiss it as lust immediatly after the fact. If all they have time to do is kiss and it's a honest kiss not driven by lust, they won't be able to deny the meaning behind it.

I don't even want a kiss at the end of 320. I want a sincere talk after both of them have heard truths from George and Lemon. How their talk should go, I'll keep to myself. I just think them playing a computer game together smiling at each other like in 203 would be a great way to end 320. Then 321 can start with both of them having feelings for the other but not knowing how the other one feels (at least from Wade's POV). Maybe just as he wants to talk to Zoe about it, Joel returns. Joel should be returning just before his Aunt's wedding.

I just don't see how Wade mad at Zoe in 320 and then Joel coming back the same episode will lead to anything positive....I would think they would want people to have hope for ZW and then suddenly Joel shows up...321 would make so much more sense so that both Zoe and Wade are at a point where they are thinking about the other again like that. With WV ending in 319 there is no time for his feelings to pop back up in that episode and I don't want Zoe's to be there just because he is with someone else....therefore Joel returning has to be at a point where Wade especially will have hope of something. I just can't see that already in 320. Because they first have to actually be on good terms.

What will go down in 320-321-322 is a real head scratcher. I myself would want Wade to have time to get over his relationship, move on from Vivian, and then be open for romantic possibilities with Zoe. But clearly we're not getting that since they're dancing by the end of the season.

So my guess is a time jump will occur possibly between 320 and 321, if WZ end 320 on good terms, and their feelings will be back in 321. But if that happens we miss the build up to that, as well as how Wade deals with his break up (once again cutting into his SLs and nobody else's), and it sucks...

Or there isn't much of a time jump and he'll get over his relationship quickly because he thinks he has a shot with Zoe, but when does that happen if Joel pops back up in 321 and there's a fire in the episode to boot?

I don't want it to be but my thinking is that 320, 321, and 322 will be a big ol mess full of jumps and congulated SLs sped up because they ran out of episodes to develop them. That mess is maybe why nobody agrees on what will go down, because so much will happen so fast and so strangely that its unspeculatable

While Wade should have time to grieve, he just isn't like Zoe that lies in bed for 6 days. Generally guys aren't like that. We get drunk with the guys or in this case Lemon and we move on. I don't expect a time jump between 320-321 no matter what happens. I also think Wade will be more pissed than upset after the break up.

The break up should be an important moment for Wade even if he doesn't spend a week in bed. It's him trying his very best to be the perfect boyfriend, failling again and apparently feeling stuck afterwards. It has to hold more content than getting drunk with Lemon and jumping into something with Zoe because she looks at him a certain right after it. Otherwise seeing him with Vivian and her son is a complete waste of time with very little narrative purpose other than showing WB kissing a woman on screen and interracting with a child for the hell of it.
