Season 2 Spoilers

• Madame Kali is going to be the Big Bad of Season 2, and it sounds like both she and Ferdinand Lyle will become regulars. There was a cut scene between them from the finale which hints about the lengths some women will go for beauty and youth. She also recites the following poem: "What games we'll have, Ms. Ives and I. Where one will live and one will die."
• The Dracula story is far from over, with another character from that world being brought into the fold in S2.
• John confirmed that Victor and Dorian are definitely going to meet but didn't shed any light as to why and how.
• The writers want to do the Island of Dr. Moreau at some point in the show.
• Ethan will be getting a flashback episode either in Season 2 or 3. John revealed that his father was a "titan of industry" and a "monstrous man", suggesting he hurt Ethan somehow as a child. He still seems undecided as to what the origin of Ethan's lycanthropy will be though.
• We will learn more about Malcolm and Sembene but not necessarily get the full backstory any time soon.
• Killing off Van Helsing was John's way of letting the fans know he's not obligating himself to recreate the original stories.
• The ultimate question underlying the show is "Who is Vanessa Ives?" Next season will begin answering whether she invited the demon in or if she's really a victim. According to John the truth is somewhere in between.
• They will be getting deeply into theology next year. Despite what he told Victor, Ethan actually does believe in God.
• In the second season, The Creature is forced to choose a new moniker and he picks the name of a dead poet. Logan denies that he was intentionally referencing "Phantom of the Opera" with the way the character evolved.
• John Logan emphasized that sex isn’t a bad thing in his world and denies that the lesson of Vanessa’s story is one of negativity towards female sexuality. He also says he wants to deal with all forms of sexual expression on the show and, rather than peg any character into a set orientation, maintains that he feels human beings ‘behave in the moment in ways that are true to them’.
• John's still exploring different ways to reveal or not reveal Brona's identity as the Bride to Ethan in S2. He definitely plans to focus on the Ethan/Vanessa connection a lot more though.
• The cast starts shooting again in September.

2x01 - "Fresh Hell" - May 3rd
Season Two begins with Vanessa Ives barraged by an onslaught of disturbing occult images brought on by the mysterious Evelyn Poole. Because of the massacre he committed in the Mariner’s Inn, Ethan Chandler decides to leave London. Under pressure from The Creature, Dr. Frankenstein works to bring Brona back to life. After Mina’s funeral, Sir Malcolm returns to London to discover that a whole new evil is hunting Vanessa.

Season 3 Spoilers

• "Penny Dreadful" Season 3 is set to introduce an iconic character straight from horror literature. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, the show creator John Logan revealed that "another famous literary character" will be added to the cast of the show. This will be the fourth such character to be added to the show after the introduction of Frankenstein, His Creature and Dorian Gray.
• Hecate will be back in season 3.
• Dorian's and Lily's journey next season will be about getting power in a really unique way.
• Season three includes a wealth of new and returning stars. Patti LuPone, who guest starred last season as the Cut-Wife, returns as a series regular in the new role of Dr. Seward, an American therapist who treats Vanessa with an unconventional new approach.
Wes Studi is a new series regular starring as Kaetenay, an intense, enigmatic Native American with a deep connection to Ethan who also becomes an ally to Sir Malcolm. Guest stars Sarah Greene (Hecate) and Simon Russell Beale (Ferdinand Lyle) return, along with new guest stars Christian Camargo as Dr. Alexander Sweet, a zoologist who strikes up an unlikely friendship with Vanessa; Sam Barnett as Dr. Seward’s mysterious young secretary; Jessica Barden as Justine, a young acolyte to Lily and Dorian Gray and Perdita Weeks as Catriona Hartdegan, a scholar with expert knowledge of the supernatural.

^^We now have a clearer picture of what will be going down this season. Victor and Lily are gonna mess with my emotions this season. It looks like Victor is seeking Dr Jekyll's help to find Lily and to find some sort of "cure". To find a reverse of what he has created. He is still very much in love with Lily going by the tears on his face while he is with her. It looks like he is trying to help her and it might work. Her face looks more like Brona than Lily. There is no anger. Just sadness.

Man, I'm so excited about this season. And what is it with Dorian and kissing all the girls? Now he's kissing the baby?
