Yeah I dont understand why people expected him to think about Laurel before he died? If it happened to me then I would be thinking about my family and my partner. I wouldn't be thinking about my ex girlfriend or even my friend tbh. Him not saying goodbye? then that is something I would think fans of them would be annoyed about.

I'm confused why everyone thought Oliver would win
I'm ticked at the weak goodbye for DIGGLE. Everyone seems to be asking about Felicity's reaction. WHAT ABOUT DIGGLE |

Laurel fans pretending to be offended on behalf of Diggle is what makes me lol
If Diggle has been sidelined for anyone this season then it is Roy. But isn't that what you guys want? Roy/Arsenal being with GA is Comic Canon. |

Actually I'm not even a Diggle fan and when he was having his flashbacks even I went he better have one of Laurel AND Diggle.
I don't ship her with Oliver but she is important to him just like Diggle is. He should have also had one of Tommy....but whatever I get they have to pander. But laurel fans have every reason to be upset. __________________

OK, what were Oliver/Diggle supposed to do? Have sex before he left? I mean, both were confident that he'd kick Ra's ass. And they said their goodbyes just like two dudes would in this situation. More of a good luck than a goodbye.

I don't think Diggle is sidelined for Roy...considering Roy is sidelined himself. Laurel's missed an episode (and was barely in the crossover) and more importantly so have Thea and Malcolm |

Roy is the one who goes out on every mission with Oliver which was something Diggle did in the past two seasons, therefore IMO he is being replaced by Roy if anyone.
Felicity is basically doing the same job for TA that she did in S1/S2 yet now she is also playing the love interest role more openly which went to Laurel (and others) in S1. So how is this sidelining Diggle? Unless people want Ollie to make puppy dog eyes at Diggle and tell him he loves him? Oh and I wasn't aiming it at you specifically. |

I'd think about my parents, my husband, and my daughter. I have no siblings. My parents are both dead. The only reason I'd think about them is unfinished business with them. If everything had been left totally reconciled, I'd only think about my husband and daughter, since they're who I'd be leaving behind.
Not my bffs, not any ex of mine. You'd think about who you're leaving behind, and unfinished business. Oliver doesn't have unfinished business with Diggle or Roy or Laurel. He doesn't have any profound regrets there. He profoundly regrets not having tried with Felicity. This is the do-over. Oliver leaves the woman he loves under circumstances that he later realizes are regrettable. Everyone thinks he's dead. He'll return in a few months. It's just the Island and the Return again, compressed. Yes, Felicity has replaced Laurel as the love interest, but that isn't a surprise. It is not a surprise that Laurel is the Black Canary, and it isn't a surprise that Felicity is his love interest. That's the show. We don't have to *like* it, but every signal we've been sent says these things. That is what has been happening on the show for well over a year. I just..I don't think Laurel and Oliver sentimentalize each other any more than Oliver and Dig do, or Oliver and Roy. Well, Roy wants Oliver to be proud of him, so maybe there's something there. I don't think if Laurel was dying that she'd go down thinking about Oliver, either. Her parents, Sara, Tommy. That's who she'd see. In other news, I continue to be like the only person who loves Ray and has no problem with anything he does. I do think BR sucked in that scene in Verdant though. Who has that kind of conversation in a club? Step outside for cryin' out loud. I think a lot of the problem there was the setting. Give them a quiet, more personal setting and he would've done better, I think. Last edited by thecatbastet; 12-11-2014 at 09:39 AM |

What about Diggle, indeed and not just in the finale but the whole season. He deserves better than what he's gotten. __________________

The comment why anyone would think Oliver would be able to beat ras is an interesting one.
Because Malcolm is a freaking psychopath, I wonder if he expected Oliver to lose and has another plan. I wonder if he may resurrect Oliver. I wonder many things. I will say the fact that they have appeared to kill or nearly kill Oliver is the first thing that makes me want to tune in to 10. Literally no other spoilers give me any desire to. But then I remember we probably won't even see Oliver until the end of 12, and I get all again. Ugh. I find it mildly interesting Roy and Thea now share the whole I-killed-someone-while-under-the-influence-of-other-things. I wonder if he will advocate for telling her the truth, especially once they realize Oliver's "dead". If they decide to keep his "death" (if that's the route they go), a secret from her as they have from Quentin, I will throw things. I am also semi-interested to see how much they tell laurel, and how much her vengeance (newly blessed by momma lance, at least now we know who she gets it from) comes into play. Also, the freaking irony. Laurel is certain about blood, and laurel demands Oliver kill Malcolm. Completely ironic that she is right about both, is painted as being wrong, wrong, wrong, and yet never gets any real vindication. I really do think the writers don't like her. __________________

tbh, everything about it was sloppy. There wasn't really much of a reaction from anyone. Don't even get me started on dinahs reaction to Sara dying
