I have the walking dead compendium one, which is about 35 dollars on the us amazon and I paid about 80 for it when it was new, it was a huge volume but its way cheaper than buying them all indivdually. it is 1-48 all in one. That would have you starting at Vol. 9 in trades for the separates.

they also have a trade that is called the survivors guide that is backstory on all of the characters, and a novel called Rise of the Governor which is the backstory of one of the villians, I've heard he's awesome as far as evilies go.

yeah I'm interested as well, I can't decide if I should get t he trades or wait unt il they come out with compedium 2 which they are about to have enough stories to do if they do it with the same amount roughly. I think I'll probably just get the trades since the compedium was over 80 at first.
