I found Daredevil to be almost unwatchable. It would have been completely unwatchable without Garner/Farrell.

As a huge Elektra fan, but I found the casting of Garner to be really, really off. She didn't look anything like Elektra. I guess I'm really stuck on the Bill Senkiewicz (sp?) images.
But then again, I find her grossly overrated as an actress and a beauty, so my opinion doesn't really count. __________________

Garner/Farrell seemed to be having fun with their roles, though their lines were pretty bad. I hope they both return in the second or third movies, assuming they get made.
Garner didn't have the Elektra look compared to the comics, but I can't think of anyone who could pull it off better. Some may have a better look, but lack the action chops. Overrated? I think Garner is getting a little too much publicity considering her non-existant film track record (as a star, I'm not counting blips on the radar like Dude, Where's My Car?). That said, she does have talent and staying power to me, and I can see her as one of the few stars who gets to the top based on merit instead of media controversy. __________________

My favorite comics realized on the silver screen were Superman and X-Men -- I think they were done remarkably well and I love watching the movies over and over.

Wasn't a fan of Superman after the original, but been feeling both of the X-movies so far.

It wasn't just her looks, nothing she did seemed "Elektra" to me. I chalked most of it up to plain old miscasting (along with a sucky script/director). And I really don't care who does the stunts or fighting in a movie myself. I guess "overrated" came off harsher than I meant it to. Garner's an adequate actor. Compared to the average Hollywood actress she's good. But by any other standard she's just average to me. Anyways, comic book movies rarely cast real actresses. They're generally the domain of washed up models, B/C/D level actresses, and porn stars trying to go legit. __________________

Garner had the confidence and credibility as an action hero. She wasn't stereotypically Greek in appearance, but I could live with that.
The script/director weren't good, so they've been replaced for the second. By who, hasn't been nailed down yet... Garner's getting a lot better; keep in mind, she hasn't had much experience in major roles. Problem with female actresses in comic roles, along with not being able to attract top caliber talent, are the roles that are available. A film like Catwoman, the way it was set up, should have never ever been made... __________________

Good info, thanks; casting Typhoid Mary will be extremely tough...

Hmm, don't recall it coming out. A lot of DC properties have optioned for film recently, especially from Vertigo; I hope they're done with the quality talent and budget that Batman Begins has been given. __________________

More rumours of a Transformers live action film abound.
I realize it started out as a show. But, I don't think a show is currently running for the Robots in Digsuise while the comics are doing big business. __________________

I can't imagine a live action show. It doesn't seem like it could be that good. I'd imagine it would rely heavily on CGI, and I don't usually like those type of movies.

I get the feeling that it'll turn out badly; the humans involved in Transformers have always irked me to no end.
