 Well, try them first and see how you like them, okay?

You don't even have to start with Here Come the Girls.

I was mostly telling you about that one because I wanted you to be aware that there is some bit of nastiness in it.

It's all worth it in the end, and not just at the very end of course.

It'd be stupid to have the women go through a lot of sadness and pain only to have a happy ending in the last two or three pages.

That's not how Milly Johnson writes.

The good stuff starts way before that, but it's subtle.

Like when you learn new things. It's a little bit at a time.

There You'll Be 09-07-2015 08:10 AM

I'm so glad she doesn't write like that.

I guess most people have badness, and then it's resolved in the last few pages.

I'm glad to know there is bad and good spread throughout the book.

I will search for her name at the library, then get the book that seems interesting to me, or books. :)

Also, I like subtle.

sunnykerr 09-07-2015 06:49 PM

It's certainly subtle, like I said.

Because I count "good friends" as being something good.

It doesn't change that they may still be with bad men.

But, you know, it's promising for the future. :)

And I can't emphasize how much they end well.

There You'll Be 09-09-2015 02:33 PM

That's so true-good friends can definitely be with bad men.

That's so good.

We may go to the library before the weekend.

I got a bunch of new books in the mail over the last couple of weeks.

My brother gave me a gift certificate for my birthday, right?

Well, I bought used books with it and they've been arriving.

It's been a bit like Christmas everyday.

But it's wrapping up. Only three more to come.

There You'll Be 09-10-2015 04:31 AM

Oh mail like that is so awesome.

It's great getting something we like so much, in the mail. It really is like Christmas every day.

What kinds of books did you get?

sunnykerr 09-10-2015 06:51 PM

I kinda got all kinds of books.

I was just looking at my Wish List and seeing which ones were really cheap and in good condition. :)

So I got all the Milly Johnson books I don't already own, I got some history books, a couple young adult novels and some just straight up novels.

There You'll Be 09-12-2015 03:20 AM

That's fabulous for you Sunny!

I definitely think you enjoy such a variety more.

Haven't been to the library yet, not till next week, but I'm sure we'll have some of Milly's books. We have a huge library here.

sunnykerr 09-12-2015 08:02 AM

It's the impulse thing.

See, if I have to wait for a book before I can read it, I never read it.

So I buy stuff that looks good and, eventually, when I decide I want to read it, it's there. :)

There You'll Be 09-13-2015 09:41 AM

Hey, that's a really good plan. :look:

That never occurred to me.

sunnykerr 09-13-2015 06:13 PM

 No worries.

You do a whole lot more with your free time than I do with mine.

So you probably have your own thing that you need to have nearby.

There You'll Be 09-14-2015 04:45 AM

Yeah, we just have different things. :)

sunnykerr 09-14-2015 04:56 PM

And that's good. :)

What matters is that we know what works for us, right?

There You'll Be 09-15-2015 07:39 AM

That's absolutely the truth.

We each have to know what works for us.

Thanks for the new Jason thread.

:lmao:

Thank you! You reminded me that I forgot to update the listing. :)

Ooops!

Meanwhile, I think so long as we find a way to get through each day, we do okay.

So that's why it has to be an individual job.

Because what works for one, won't work for the next person.
