 Well, try them first and see how you like them, okay?
You don't even have to start with Here Come the Girls. I was mostly telling you about that one because I wanted you to be aware that there is some bit of nastiness in it. It's all worth it in the end, and not just at the very end of course. It'd be stupid to have the women go through a lot of sadness and pain only to have a happy ending in the last two or three pages. That's not how Milly Johnson writes. The good stuff starts way before that, but it's subtle. Like when you learn new things. It's a little bit at a time. |
I'm so glad she doesn't write like that.
I guess most people have badness, and then it's resolved in the last few pages. I'm glad to know there is bad and good spread throughout the book. I will search for her name at the library, then get the book that seems interesting to me, or books. :) Also, I like subtle. |
It's certainly subtle, like I said.
Because I count "good friends" as being something good. It doesn't change that they may still be with bad men. But, you know, it's promising for the future. :) And I can't emphasize how much they end well. |
That's so true-good friends can definitely be with bad men.
That's so good. We may go to the library before the weekend. |
I got a bunch of new books in the mail over the last couple of weeks.
My brother gave me a gift certificate for my birthday, right? Well, I bought used books with it and they've been arriving. It's been a bit like Christmas everyday. But it's wrapping up. Only three more to come. |
Oh mail like that is so awesome.
It's great getting something we like so much, in the mail. It really is like Christmas every day. What kinds of books did you get? |
I kinda got all kinds of books.
I was just looking at my Wish List and seeing which ones were really cheap and in good condition. :) So I got all the Milly Johnson books I don't already own, I got some history books, a couple young adult novels and some just straight up novels. |
That's fabulous for you Sunny!
I definitely think you enjoy such a variety more. Haven't been to the library yet, not till next week, but I'm sure we'll have some of Milly's books. We have a huge library here. |
It's the impulse thing.
See, if I have to wait for a book before I can read it, I never read it. So I buy stuff that looks good and, eventually, when I decide I want to read it, it's there. :) |
Hey, that's a really good plan. :look:
That never occurred to me. |
 No worries.
You do a whole lot more with your free time than I do with mine. So you probably have your own thing that you need to have nearby. |
Yeah, we just have different things. :)
|
And that's good. :)
What matters is that we know what works for us, right? |
That's absolutely the truth.
We each have to know what works for us. Thanks for the new Jason thread. |

:lmao: Thank you! You reminded me that I forgot to update the listing. :) Ooops! Meanwhile, I think so long as we find a way to get through each day, we do okay. So that's why it has to be an individual job. Because what works for one, won't work for the next person. |
