What was the last movie you saw? DISCUSSION #2 (Please Use Spoiler Tags For New Films)

New thread.

Watched Mozart and the Whale.
Very sweet and touching, and I found the acting outstanding.

New Moon. Loved the Edward/Bella scenes. Loved playing games with my mobile phone during the middle.

New Moon - It was entertaining but not one of my favorites. I'm not really a fan of Bella (I like the series for the characters around her) and the movie was essentially revolved around her.

2012 - Not usually my style of movie but it entertained. I don't usually like disaster movies and this one was decent.

Men Who Stare at Goats - Somewhat disappointing. I thought it was going to be a lot funnier than it actually was and the ending left a lot to be desired.

No Mercy starring Richard Gere. It wasn't great but maybe worth renting if you're a fan of him or Kim Basinger.

New Moon - Ugh. Very slow, crappy acting.

The last movie I watched in the theaters was 2012. It was better than I expected. I watched Funny People on DVD earlier today and it was pretty good.

Nightmare Before Christmas and I still love it...can't wait to see the Revisited version and Burton's Alice in Wonderland.

Fantastic Mr. Fox. Another soon to be classic by Wes Anderson. Too bad stop motion is a dying art.

Last movie: An Education, which I loved when I saw it but now that I think about it, I don't love it as much. Some people have questions about some parts of the movie but as it was from a memoir I don't mind sacrificing plot contriviances for truth. But I didn't like the montage when I first saw it, and I like it even less now. Carey Mulligan (and the other actors) was wonderful though, the movie looked great, and it was quite funny. On a shallow note: Jenny and Helen's dresses? I want.

Personal Effects on DVD, with Ashton Kutcher and Michelle Pfeiffer. It was surprisingly good and really moving. Ashton is actually really impressing me lately. His choices are understated and his work is honest and ... yeah. I also just saw Spread with him, which was a crappy movie, but a strong performance from him.

The Uninvited - Very entertaining but not amazing. I watched the movie mostly for Arielle Kebbel and her character, Alex, ended up being my favorite.

I've Loved You So Long - This was intense and quite moving. The acting was fantastic; but my favorite element was the dull atmosphere, and how it allowed the story to be told slowly and effectively.

Her Minor Thing - Funny at times. My favorite part was watching Christian Kane in a movie again. I found the recurring close ups disconcerting at the beginning, but the movie opened up as it went on. It was incredibly predictable but it wasn't trying to be anything other than funny and sexy, and it was.

Eagle Eye - Nothing original, but I enjoyed it.

Snow Angels - Incredibly depressing. Has a few great scenes, though.
