I didn't know the specific ending, just that it was a much darker kind of film. Diane Lane was on Watch What Happens Live recently and they were talking about how she was up for the part. She says a lot of people were but that it was a much different movie from what it became. More art house. And it was a darker ending.
Even the version that ended up in the movies, which was much frotherier, had a less happy ending where they don't get together but that eventually they went with the HEA. Even if it was unrealistic, I wanted happy.  __________________
