I love this movie so much. I always get the urge to watch this movie after talking about it too. And everytime I watch it my crush on Leo comes back. I think he made the perfect Romeo.

Hey guys, is this specifically for the version with leo and Claire? Because personally I liked the 1968 Version of Romeo and Juliet a whole lot better [img]smilies/look.gif[/img] (I had to watch them both for school)

Chilli - this thread tends to be a bit biased toward the Leo & Claire version.

[img]smilies/sigh.gif[/img] Another one of my favorite movies has a thread on here so I soo have to come back to this board more. i have it on VHS but soo need to get it on DVD because seriously it still gives me chills and I used to know the entire movie by heart.. Obssessed much? lol.

My favorite part (well . . . one of my favorite parts [img]smilies/wink.gif[/img] ) is when Romeo is getting dressed after he spends the night, and he's being really tender with her, and then Juliet wakes up, and he says he has to leave because it's day, and she goes, That light is not daylight! And then they get all wrapped up in the sheets [img]smilies/sigh.gif[/img]

I was wondering, did Juliet's mother know about Romeo? Because she goes into the room and then there's a big splash and she exchanges this look with the nurse and then sighs and walks away. I'm very confused about that part, and also, was Juliet's mother in a relationship with Tybalt? Because she kisses him at the party and I mean . . . he's Juliet's cousin, so it's kind of weird.

If it wasn't for this movie, I don't think I would've never learned the play. William Shakespeares Romeo and Juliet with Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes, I think had a huge impact with it's modernization, then Hamlet did with Ethan Hawke and Julia Stiles. Even the Mel Gibson version couldn't beat R&J.

I SO love this movie. I bought it 2 years ago on DVD and have the soundtrack since '97, and both are high in my list of fave movies/cd's. [i even have a leo poster (the fishtank) -though now it's inside my closet, cause i'm "too old" to have posters in my walls-]

I still have my Titanic poster up in my room [img]smilies/biggrin.gif[/img] The only movie I've ever wanted a poster of. But now I certainly would not say no to a R+J poster.

Baz always has great music in his movies [img]smilies/biggrin.gif[/img] I myself have the Moulin Rouge! soundtrack.

R+J is like my second favorite movie now. *Sigh* I've got to rearrange my whole favorite movies list!

<STRONG> I just finished it. I watched it with my younger brother. He was completely freaked out with all the fighting scenes - when Tybalt grabbed the glass from the window to slash Mercutio, he (my brother) actually gasped and covered his eyes. And he was shaking throughout ALL the fighting scenes [img]smilies/lol.gif[/img] He's ten, so I didn't think he would be so scared of all the blood and stuff.

The end makes me cry [img]smilies/frown.gif[/img] The first time I saw the movie, I thought that since Juliet was actually awake when Romeo was uncapping the poison that she would stop him, but she basically put the poison in his mouth by startling him! I was like [img]smilies/eek.gif[/img]

I watched this the other night too. I love the fishtank scene more and more everytime I see it. I was grinning from ear to ear. It's just so sweet. [img]smilies/biggrin.gif[/img]

And as many times as I've seen the movie, I always hope the end will be different. Of course, it never is. [img]smilies/frown.gif[/img]

My favourite scene is the fishtank scene and the wonderful, wonderful pool scene. [img]smilies/sigh.gif[/img] The end makes me all teary as well, the sound of the gunshot depresses me to no end. [img]smilies/frown.gif[/img]

Their end was so much more dramatic in this movie than in any other version and in the play, and I liked the little changes Baz made, the way he adapted the play. I always thought Paris dying was kind of unnecessary anyway. [img]smilies/look.gif[/img]

Another scene I love? Their wedding scene. Sigh.
