For ages now I've been meaning to go through Theo Angelopoulos' filmography. But I watch about 0.5 movies per 5 years + his work is challenging, so I can't turn to it when I just want some rest/easily-digestible fun. But this captures why his movies are worth the time and effort.
"Beyond Greece itself, Angelopoulos stands apart as a director and "contemporary citizen" deeply concerned with the past and present of the Balkans as geographical, cultural, and spiritual territories. He is painfully aware that the borders have always shifted in the Balkans. And he knows that it has never been easy to simply say one is "Greek."from: x (which seems to be deactivated now) His themes resonate with me because I'm from the Balkans, but I think international audience can find his movies and questions they raise interesting and relateable too. (The second scene is from The Suspended Step of the Stork too) |

I'd really recommend this Korean zombie horror: Train To Busan

^^ I've come across it but a lot of the time I want a film I don't have to pay attention to, like subs so I go for the easy watch!

Believe me, once the action gets going and people start getting bitten on the train, it's intense and terrifying!
