Yesterday, while driving, I remembered a scene from Raiders of the Lost Ark - you know the one: Harrison Ford's character, Indiana, has just gotten onto the Nazi truck with the Ark on it (after chasing it down with a horse!) and he's trying to get the truck away from the bad guys.

He's causing the truck to veer into date palms, etc., knocking the bad guys off. At one moment he's peering over the steering wheel, looks back for a moment and sees one of the Nazi cars driving up the side, and with a subtle little jerk of the wheel bumps the car just enough that it crashes (I can't recall if that was the one that went over the cliff or into the ditch). He then grins wickedly.

I love that moment. But more importantly to this thread, there are moments when I'm driving when I want to do that to the obnoxious car that won't let me into their lane or won't let me pass.

Turns out there are lots of things from films I'd like to do that I never get the chance - or will get the chance to do...some more appropriate than others (not all the things I see in films I want to copy are destructive. *lol*).

Anyway, what are a few of yours?

ETA - back in the days of the original Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory they used to sell candy from the film. Even though I knew it was just in the film and not real, I couldn't help it - I would buy Wonka bars (which weren't very good, although some of the other candy was) and carefully open them up in the hopes of finding a golden ticket.

Ooh - and how many times have I gone into antique stores or houses in Europe, opened a wardrobe and peered into the back? Many, MANY times. Haven't found Narnia yet, but I'm still looking. Really.

And let's not even discuss how much I want to attend Hogwarts - and I'm 41! I don't think they take students that old.

Saw 1 & 2 - I'd like to be smart enough to set up traps like that. Sure the whole act of killing might seem bad, but Jigsaw did it for a reason!

Eurotrip/Harold & Kumar Go to Amsterdam - I'd like to roll through Europe with some buddies and just have a blast... and get the hot chick.

Bring It On - Be the brother of a hot gymnast that becomes a cheerleader and have her hot cheerleader friend come over and hook up with me...

Blade - Become a vampire and hunt them...

Thing is, I'm not much different - I TOTALLY want to be one of the Charlie's Angels girls, or maybe Nikita in La Femme Nikita, screaming obscenities at everyone and sticking pencils into the back of evil cops' hands.

Really - isn't that the appeal of these films, to make us wish we were in the "good" guy's shoes?

I also want to ride a motocycle and do nifty things with it like in M:I II and Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle. Nevermind that highly trained extreme sports stars did the tricks, I want to do them.

Seriously, though - stunt driving has always fascinated me and you get to get away with all the things you can't legally do on the regular highways.
