I seriously have no idea, I'm just thinking out loud here! It's going to bug me now too, so I definitely hope there's some sort of explanation
I do believe you're overanalyzing the situation now. But I'll play along.

Maybe Brian recovered the car and kept it somewhere safe, hoping to reconcile with Dom somewhere down the road. Or just hoping to give it back to Dom later on, knowing the history and meaning of the car to Dom. And then whenever they do get back together, maybe Brian gives Dom the car. So the car won't be fully restored until the end, once again.

I can't still cannot believe they're making another Fast & the Furious film, but I am so damn excited!!!

The first one was by far the best (though I did enjoy Tokyo Drift) so to have most of the original cast back for seconds -- or, in Paul and Vin's case, thirds -- is amazing!

I can't wait for this film.

I just hope the franchise stops with this movie.

Everyone's already aged almost 10 years since the last one.

You started it.

I agree the franchise needs to end after this film, otherwise...overkill.

Just watched Tokyo Drift tonight on TNT. And awww Vin.

Cute little ending scene; now I'm hoping there will be mention of Vin's trip around Asian and his connection to Han in the fourth movie.

Jordana looks kinda weird. As if she doesn't really fit in with the rest of the photos.

I didn't really notice that before, but that's true! Like she's just been cut and pasted into the photo with the others I suppose it also doesn't help that she's looking in a different direction

Right there you! The cars are so crazy and pretty, plus the driving scenes are exciting as heck. I can't wait to watch F&F in a theater again.

I never actually saw any of the previous films in the cinema, so in that respect, this'll be a first-time experience for me!

I think I've seen only Tokyo Drift in theaters. My god was that loud.

But I'm super excited! The trailer that aired during the Super Bowl literally had me squeeing. The people at my apartment thought I was crazy.
